yeah anime can get expensive, the manga might be cheaper up front, GTO manga has ....20 plus vol's at $9.99 ea. that is over $200 plus total, the GTO anime is $28 plus, think there is 10 vol's, i have four of them and i got a good deal on em closeout sale disc.
some anime is better than the manga, and some manga are better than the anime, for example, i heard that the manga for Chobits was much better than the anime, i agree. I have the whole set of the chobits manga, all eight vol's, but only the first vol of the anime of chobits, and besides i don't feel like spending $30 on the remaining 6 vol's, it's not really worth the money.
Yeah it can be an investment, it could be much cheaper to d/l but on dial up, forget it, and not worth the risk of getting online virus' and other malicious online problems from d/l, get enough risk as it is surfing the internet alone.
Yeah One Piece is good, watched it a few times on the Saturday morning cartoons, think it will be on cartoon network or one of the similar channels. Not sure how many vol's one piece has, but it has a lot.

I think it could be for kids, but also adults like me, since i enjoy most manga/anime. I would say it is entertaining and interesting to watch. I like Nami, she kicks butt and is beautiful & hot!. Also Luffy, the main character is funny how he stretches with his ability. The plot of One Piece is on going and fun. I think you might like it, but try to watch it from the beginning.

Im thinkng of DL it, but I only got 10GB left on my comp and i need those for the 4 important series im DL at the moment
Collecting Anime is very expensive....spent like 200+ on my GTO, bout $100 n sum odd on Initial D, and bout $100+ for Fruits Basket. Soon to hit $100+ for Ikki. My GTO Manga collection is bout to hit $250+. Only need two more and im finish with Everything GTO

kt tran,
that's a good collection!, is Fruits Basket any good? YEah, i need to add to my collection on Ikki Tousen, falling behind. Mabuharo comes out tmrw 4/19 at best buy, should check it out. I think that Burst Angel comes out next month. D/L animes? is it safe to, cause all the cp virus and adware crap on the internet...how long does it take, i could not do it since i am on dial up....
Yeah GTO, great series, think the Manga is naughtier though, and so is Battle Vixens aka-ikki tousen.

i think u paid too much on the gto dvd collection. You probably bought it right after they released it didnt you... it was on sale a couple of months ago - $35 each for box set & 2.
and yeah, i agree, collecting anime is quite expensive... I learned my lesson not to buy at the first release... bought ny hack//sign dvd 1 collectors edition for more than $50 and now u can get them real cheap...
a few titles do get more expensive as time goes by though like Cowboy Bebop... I should have bought a couple of boxes of those before and sell them on ebay... hehehe _________________

Fruits BAsket is one of the greatest animes ever. The multi layered depth to the story.
The incredible humor, deep sadness, treatment of alienation and acceptance. I dont think there is another quite like it.
Not to mention the charming artwork!
Although I have a bunch of favs..... Is anyone watching Naruto or PoT?
And Hana Yori Dango could almost be a dorama itself. Like..... Meteor Garden... _________________

noticed your sig pix, School Rumble, i have been waiting for it to come out on dvd, and the manga to come out too, does anyone know when they will come out?
fruits baskets seem interesting, haven't read the manga either, but heard about it. Also, not sure what the japanese title is, but the american title is His and Her Circumstances, something like that, a romantic/drama type anime, anyone know about that one.
