Jeez, it looks like the programers for the Chinese shows have gotten the message.

With "Warriors Of The Yang Clan" ending on Wednesday the 18th, KTSF has announced that they will start showing "Hero", with English subs, on Thursday the 19th.

The KTSF blurb for Hero:

I never did get around to watching that. I've never been a big fan of Chinese historical drama or wuxia, but I may give Hero a chance.

Heh, I grew up on wuxia: we watched all that blood and gore all the time.... But I agree on the historical stuff: it's a snoozer.

For those interested, the California board has threads for Hero in English and Chinese.

Thanks, ccwf

I've just been reading some of your message boards for Hero... Hmmm. People don't seem to be jumping up and down about how much they like the show.

Then again, it only started for you guys on the 10th.

Still tossing a coin as to whether I'll give it a try on not.

kitakaze

Not a lot of "history" in "Warriors of the Yang Clan"

Lots and lots of romantic melodrama. Buckets of battles, and lots of fights. Lots of fights. (And all very well done, as well).

But History? Not so much.

Yes, and I've only had time to watch the first episode myself (which didn't even introduce most of the characters). I'll try to catch up on the weekend and will have a more definite opinion then.

Hmmm...it may have been the commercials that turned me off of it. I have been seeing more Taiwanese dramas lately...the acting in them still tends to bother me slightly.

Drat. Hitonatsu no Papa E (Papa for one Summer) didn't end tonight. They're stretching the last episode into a two parter.

That means the movie, Dawn of a New Day won't start until May 28.

Some caps:

I kinda know what you mean. I got really bored with the show the last time I watched it. Sweat

Any word on what show will be taking its spot after it runs the movie that they're supposed to show?

It might be interesting to see Shimpei wipe out on his motorcycle.

Waiting for the shoe to drop.

Okay, I've been recording "Warriors Of The Yang Clan"

33 episodes in the can.

1 left to get.

How much you want to bet there's a power out tonight.

Or I just flat forget to set the timer.

5 nights a week. 33 episodes. I swear, if I have to listen to that damned theme music ever again, after tonight, I'll blow my brains out.

If so, why you're recording the show is beyond me, Geez.

Because it was there.

Because a job well started is a job finished.

Because a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

Because I couldn't stop myself.

And now it's done. 34 episodes and not a minute missed.

And one of these days I might even watch the danged thing.

Now if I can just keep myself from watching the first episode of "Hero" I should be okay.

A thankless job well done.

A true test of intestinal fortitude.

Perseverance in the face of adversity.

34+ hours of your life you'll never get back.

34 hours of my life that I'll never get back!

Ha!

You're leaving out the time it took to edit out the commercials, and burn the discs!

Oh wait. That's probably not something to brag about, is it.

I've watched the second episode now and part of the third. There's a lot of attempted humor I don't really care for, but it's been OK so far. The Japan scenes were really nice.

Argh! They snuck a new one in on me.

I guess 24 hour Emergency ended, because KTSF has started running Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu
(Crying out in the Center of the world) on Sunday nights.

No subs, of course.

I saw the movie and I liked it so much I really wasn't interested in seeing the series.

But the first episode kind of grabbed me when I turned it on. It's got a real nice look to it, and it seems (so far, anyway) like they did a very nice job with the story.

I don't know if this one's been subbed yet, but based on what I saw tonight, I hope it's on someone's list.
