But the first episode kind of grabbed me when I turned it on. It's got a real nice look to it, and it seems (so far, anyway) like they did a very nice job with the story.

I don't know if this one's been subbed yet, but based on what I saw tonight, I hope it's on someone's list.

It's currently being released on d-addicts with English subs. (Up to episode 6)

dochira,

Oh, way cool. I'm not a downloader, but that means someone will have it up for trade eventually.

That of course is my subtle hint to any of my downloading friends.

Really?

I wonder if we could convince BMW that Ryoko Yonekura makes a guest appearance in the show. That would be one way to insure that the show would get taped.

That's correct. Also, we're a few episodes ahead, having just gotten the fourth episode, wŌ̓x, yesterday.

Sorry, Geez.

Didn't even know there was a new drama on the playlist 'til a week or two ago, and by then I already missed a couple of shows... Sweat

D'oh!

It's cool. Since it's on D-Addicts, and running on a SoCal TV station, I expect someone will end up with a copy I can trade for.

It ain't life or death. Like I said, I saw the movie.

It's just that after all the kid shows, and Pop Idol shows they've been running up here, I liked the idea of seeing a series that some thought went into.

Did anyone happen to cap the first two eps of Mars with English subs? It looks like an interesting show.

Didn't cap it, but I've been watching it too. After the first episode I was crazy and since I heard it was based on a Japanese manga, I flew to Borders and began a long, long, read-fest! And let me tell ya, the manga is really really awesome. The TV show has been pretty faithful to it, somethings have been switched around, but so far both have been equally great... Not to mention Vic is so completely hot... Muack

Have you noticed the viewership trend on the recent drama's

My Little Chef: 8.19% viewership
Kougen e Irasshai: 7.3%
To Hitonatsu no papa: 5.6%
Keiji Ichiro: 5.2%

It seems only the Kochira Hon Ikegami sho series was in the double digits of around 15%. Each other drama has been lower and lower. Oh well although I was a little disappointed I thought To Hitonatsu no papa was not bad, and I liked the other too just a funny trend I noticed.

I heard Wakaba had terrible numbers too, not sure how Sakura did.

Wow, they're showing an older drama it seems. I guess I should archive this series, if I remember to do so. Sweat

Yup. All low rated. All from TBS's schedule in 2003, with the execption of My Little Chef which was 2002. And all, from the look of them, pretty inexpensive shows to produce.

I think the trend we're looking at here is... inexpensive.

Not surprising, I suppose. They (all the local Japanese programming sources, Fuji TV and TTV) have dramatically scaled back their programs. There was a time when there would be a couple of hours of daily programming in the morning. Now all that's left is news. Fuji used to start broadcasting at 7pm on Saturdays. Now they begin at 8pm. Lastly, there was a time when Fuji would air it's Memorial Day special on Memorial Day. They went out and bought the airtime. Now it is reduced to spreading the special over multiple weeks.

We were gone for 2 weeks and our VCR managed to screw up both Saturdays, meaning we missed Mars and the rest of the surprisingly watchable VHS movie, in addition to Yoshitsune and Wakaba (which has grown on me). I'm so sad. :| I've been looking forward to coming back to my several hours of dramas for the whole trip (yeah, it was that thrilling of a trip).

I doubt anyone else taped ALL of these, but I'd definitely buy you a tape and postage (or a tape and lunch if you're local) if you happened to and could make a copy. Puppy Dog Eyes

Mars is completely subbed with english subs floating around on some people's trade lists.
Also I've been uploading Yoshitsune (up til episode 14 at d-addicts). 15-17 will be uploaded eventually.
As for Wakaba... can't help you out on that one.

A note to Geezer:
I have Sekai Chuushin de, ai wo sakebu subtitled up til episode 8. I'm working on 9 tonight. 10 and 11 are already translated/edited/timed. :-D
I'll have it done soon.

Hello everyone,

I've been watching Saturday nights for quite a few years. But it's my wife who is the real fan.

I usually watch during the 8 to 9 time slot. We have also been watching more Anime now that it has become more available on tv.

My favorite program is Sakura. We really liked the main characters especially the similarities we saw bettween them and ourselves. My wife is from Hawaii and I lived there for a number of years. She's cute and perky just like Sakura.

It's great to find this forum, especially with so many Bay Area members. Are there any Cosplayers here?
