Enjoying Suekko chounan ane san nin [qjoOl] starring Okada Junichi in the comfort of my home.
The show is not too bad except alot of shouting and screaming from the ladies in the show.

I'm watching Moto Kare with Ryoko Hirosue and Dohmoto Tsuyoshi but I don't really like it, I mean Rina is so good at acting and also Tsuyoshi and Ryoko, it's the story kind of boring! .__. _________________

I've got 2 shows going right now, I love them both and they are about as different as can be.
I started Ai wo Kudasai and the show flat out had me after only 2 episodes. The show stars Miho Kanno, with supporting players like Takanori Jinnai and Yosuke Eguchi, so I shouldn't have been surprised that it was good.
But it's kind of a serious piece about a young woman whose thoughts are never very far from suicide. Miho plays an orphan, abused as a child, looked down on as an adult, who lives sort of a double life.
Happy, loving, peppy nursery school teacher by day... depressed, suicidal, homewrecking slut by night. (Miho as a slut? That got my attention.)
Unfortunately I ran into a wonky disc before I could watch episode 3... so while waiting for a replacement disc, I started in on:
Narita Rikon And I'm loving this show!
In the world of romantic comedies, it's more comedy than romance. And with a supporting cast like Eri Fukatsu, Hiroshi Abe, Leo Morimoto and Ikki Sawamura how can you lose?
I'd never heard of the leading lady, Asaka Seto before, and I've never been a big fan of Tsuyoshi Kusanagi. But they are carrying this show effortlessly.
I always prefer comedies to the heavy stuff. And 5 episodes in, this show has delivered every time. It's one of those shows where I can't wait to get done with taking the dogs out on their last walk at night, so that I can get myself into my lazy-boy and push play. _________________

Geezer, I like Narita Rikon.. Watched it a few years ago on TV.. Been dying to find the cds... Asaka Seto & Tsuyoshi Kusanagi makes a good combination there!

Just to give you some context... Tokiwa was an absolute favorite of mine before I saw Meguri Ai. Or should I say, before I saw most of Meguri Ai. I couldn't get through it.
Since then... to put it mildly, I haven't been interested in seeing anything she's in.
Which is kind of a drag, because I did have a crush on her.
Okay Geezer, I'm done watching Meguri Ai over the weekend. Too bad you haven't seen anything else of her. I liked her in Beautiful Life. But to be honest I wanted to drag them both and bump their heads together from episode 7 onwards because indeed it was a verrrryyy long refrain. After the nice passionate scenes of earlier episodes, the ending was soooooo...can't think of the right word.
Fukuyama Masaharu is cute but I like him singing than acting. Sorry I love the guy but..
Speaking of Okada Junichi, I also watched my first dorama of him. I enjoyed Suekko (too long the title of this one) with Fukatsu Eri and was laughing with the antics of the amazon ladies in the family. Poor Eri having like 4 mothers-in-law and I can related so well since I'm from the Philippines - the land of the extended family.
hmm i luv the drama , got me hooked to see what would happen next !... though the ending was well how shall i say it ... strange but then i really did not know how it would end otherwise
i guess i also luv the realistic confusion of loving more than 1 person in life and then confused about what to do.
a very different story from the general ... but yes definitely enjoyed it.

I guess I didn't explain myself very well.
I'd seen a bunch of shows featuring Tokiwa prior to my eyes, and sensibilities, being assaulted by Refrain.
I loved her in Beautiful Life.
I thought she was gorgeous in Le bel Homme.
I enjoyed Tabloid.
And she was great in Ryuuten no Ouhi (Princess Hiro)
In fact, I'd become such a fan of hers, I went out and bought a copy of her HK movie, Moonlight Express.
That's why I'm so down on Refrain. Ever since seeing that show, I haven't been able to watch her in anything else. I just can't get that awful show out of my head.
And it has to be mentioned... this is mostly just a question of my tastes. I hate weepy, heavy handed, amateurish, soap operas.
I hated Tokyo Wankie, but fortunately I realised where it was going early enough to stop watching before it ruined Yukie Nakama for me.
And Heaven's Coins took the shine off everyone who appeared in it, as far as I'm concerned.
On a happier note, I just got a copy of Eri's The only Son and his Three Eler Sisters. I haven't started watching it yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.
Such a bummer. I've only got one episode of Narita Rikon left to watch.
It's like still being ravenous, and knowing there's only one piece of pizza left in the box. You'd like to save it for later, but you know it's gonna taste best if you eat it NOW! _________________

Geez', on a random note, you missed out on a career as a writer.
Your posts here are invariably thoughtful, clear, and interesting.

Finished up Ruri no Shima today... the store no longer has Kono Yo no Hate, which I was thinking about making copies of - Hiroshi Mikami has been typecasted too much. Ryoko Hirosue MESSED UP Lipstick! Anyway, I've been thinking about continuing with Anego or starting either Yume Aimasho or Tiger/Dragon. Any ideas?
