Thanks ying ying for the FLY clip. OMG!!! takuya looked so delicious pllus he can really sing!! He was in his nail painting phase then, but i think he doesn't look good with painted nails.
And Shingo with that afro hair -- he looks odd but cute.

Backstreet Boys x SMAPis one interesting moment. Since Backstreet Boys is the #1 boyband in US (im not sure thou, are they still #1 now? xD). And SMAP is the #1 group (i dun like mentioning SMAP as boyband, keke...coz they are so much more than that) in Japan.
Actually, BSB and SMAP have many similarities:
1. Range of age are almost the same^^ BSB's birth years are 1971-1980. SMAP's birth years are 1972-1977.
2. Same number of members.
3. Long-lasting groups. SMAP only beats BSB by exactly 5 years. SMAP was formed in April 1988. While, BSB was formed in April 1993.
However, it only took 3 years for BSB to be on the peak of popularity. While SMAP needed 9 years to be really on top of the Japan's entertainment industry.
But I guess, all that pays off, coz turns out BSB have to be on a break for 4-5 years. While SMAP is still on top until now, no hiatus period whatsoever^^
Oh, one more difference....BSB doesn't have big name, big popularity individually^^
4. Goro and Nick were both once arrested by the police, exactly the same case, drunk-driving^^;
5. Both Goro and Brian are afraid of heights^^ Both Nakai and AJ collects many, many different kinds of hat, and almost always wear one on every segment in the concert. Both Kimura and AJ wears a skull ring...AJ loves anything with skull, Im not sure thou, is Kimura into skull stuffs?? Or, is it just the ring?^^
6. BSB and SMAP have once sue/fight their management company, coz of the unfair profit share. In 1998, BSB sued their creator, Lou Pearlman. In 1996, SMAP fight Johnny and co. about it, but didnt come to the extent of serious sueing to the court though....
6. Shingo and Nick do resembles! Same height (also both have the highest height in their own group), same chubbyness. Coincidentally, at the moment, Shingo's hair is also short and blonde^^ Both are the youngest in the group. Both are comics-otaku (of course, Nick loves American comics, while Shingo loves the Japanese ones^^). From the clips I saw, it seems they get along very well. And looks like, Nick likes and act friendly towards Shingo.
I love their duet in "I Want It That Way" ^_^
7. So far, I think, both groups' members have interest in older ladies...haha! Kevin's wife is 1 year older. Brian's wife is 6 years older. Kimura's wife is 2 years older. I heard, Shingo's -10yrs- girlfriend is also older than him...keke... _________________

I am so happy today ....because I manage to find one of their old album "pamS" in Tower Record....Last One... am enjoying every minute of it. I am a late starter so have a lot of catch up in news and in collection.....I downloaded quite a nos. of Kimura's pic in my office PC..he he he I hope I do not overload the memory otherwise I am in deep shit....

The said avatar comes from his dorama "Sora Kara Furu Ichioku No Hoshi" - his role of Katase Ryo is different from all his other roles, i.e. not the usual charismatic hero. One of my personal favourites.
Again, can never say enough thanks to Yingying for uploading all the clips... Unfortunately, I'll have to download the bigger files in the office on Tues coz my home connection is only 56k!
(I cannot imagine anyone being worse than me!!)
And one more thing, am I the only one who feels that SMAP's 2002 Drink! Smap! tour is a way better performance than their 2003 MIJ one?
The 2003 MIJ one had me feeling all hot (and not in the delicious hot way) and sticky watching the concert coz all of them were piling on the layers in SUMMER and perspiring sooooo much! Who was their fashion designer???!!!

currently. I dun think anyone can able to dl last week sxs cos nermal from jpopsuki was busy and for saiyaMan also busy due to exam period so we have to wait for a while... as for the problem for dl-ing from jpopsuki, the tracker have rule that if anyone have low upload and download rate, need to wait for 32hrs in order to dl even if u just sign up for the tracker, it also apply a 32 hrs penalty.. so therefore it needs to wait for around 2 or 3 days to dl, if not, it will due to the dl speed problem....

Regarding the karate competition. Firstly I must say they looked so young then. I saw Takuya wearing a bandage in the performance. Did he hurt himself? It must be very tough of them to learn to do martial arts in such a short time....
Yes, ying ying you are not the only one.......I have also been waiting since last week to dl the 6/27 episode off the jpopsuki. I am going to have SMAP SMAP withdrawal symptoms soon! I need my weekly dose of our boys!!!

saw some of you guys mentioning dl-ing certain episodes, where's the source may i ask?
but in the meantime, for those who haven't seen the clips, u guys can go to jpopsuki to d/l smap's karate demonstration 1993.. it's quite painful to watch our favs hurting themselves.. but some parts were funny too.. like tsuyoshi kept running abt in pain...

no.. this clip din show them crying at the end when the result was out.. for that, i think u can get the compressed clip at kurenai's site.. nakai, tsuyoshi n takuya were crying
