Two million yen an ep is not enough to make those lame stars from Friend's jealous. Damn!
i agree...they'll never get close to that much in japan but then the compensation for major stars in japan, as you know, comes more from commerical endorsements, rather than acting or the like...you can get paid in the millions for a doing some CM work which must undoubtedly take a lot less time and energy compared to acting in film or or television.
i loathe sit coms....i think that's one reason why i stopped watching network television YEARS ago, literally. friends...i never even watched one full segment of even a single episode, from commercial break to commercial break...
t.v. in the states is creatively bankrupt, as is film, for the most part....thank Al Gore for the Internet.......

Just watched the first Episode of Hotman. Most of the cast are familiar so I think i'll like this a lot. It seems to be a very dramatic series right from the start. _________________

I loved Hotman! It was a great series, I think Takeshi Sorimachi really shone in this one. Plus, Nanami-chan was so cute! _________________

It was pretty cute I bet you'll enjoy it. I always like Konishi Manami. She is so sweet looking.

As is frequently the case. Especially for sports stars.

I cant argue with you there. I have barely watched TV in 20 years. Before it was films, then anime and now dramas. All on VHS then DVD meaning~ NO COMMERCIALS!!
Network TV is the worst. Cable puts out an effort once in awhile. I must admit I did enjoy Showtime channels, Dead Like Me, series. Very dark and quite funny. Has anyone else seen it?
Im off to watch ep 11 of Gokusen. Still funny.... _________________

I just finished Sekai no Chuushin de Ai Wo Sakebu on tv. Tied up all the loose ends but did it in a rather fast fashion. I hope that doesnt give any spoilers away.... Overall a good show....Quite sad.... _________________

Glad I didn't watch it... Sounds like a depressing show.

I haven't watched a drama in a really long time I just started Lovers in Paris tonight. I heard this has a crappy ending, but I'll deal.
Lee Dong-gun, UMPH. He's normally pretty hot but in this he dresses like a dope and has facial hair that looks like crap on him. It just doesn't fit him, IMHO. He's normally a pretty boy and I guess he's trying to look rugged for this role. Shave, damnit. Shave.
Anyway, I think it's pretty cool when dramas are partly based in other countries like this one is. I'll see how this one goes...

Started watching Koi no Ochitara and finished 7 eps over the weekend; awaiting the release of the others subs...
this is a good drama, reminds me a bit of Star no Koi on the first ep.
The main actor's love interest is really pretty, imo ^_^ _________________
