i'm surprised by some of the posts here. disrespectful i would say.
myself being half japanese i have naturally watched more japanese dramas and films than korean ones and any korean movie that i haven't liked is purely because i haven't liked it. not because it's korean. there's been lots of japanese dramas, movies that i haven't liked also.
anyway, i haven't seen any korean dramas but when i was in japan a few years ago they were plugging 'fuyu no sonata' like mad. i believe it became very popular in japan.

i think all of Asia now is sorta having a "korean-boom". when i visited my family last week in miami, all they were watching was eWO(咷)@"dai jang geum".
looks pretty good actually, i'm always good if it's anything historical. i think i'll prolly enjoy watching it if i have the time. problem is i wanna do so much things and NOT watch TV. only if i'm EXTREMELY bored. (i guess yeah, that includes jdoramas as well... ) _________________

I've only seen a one Korean Drama so far and that was Attic Cat...don't know the girls name nor the Guy'....but I think they pretty good. Watching Sweet 18 right now, don't know the actors name nor actresses
My favorite Korean Actress is Jun Jeon Hyun from My Sassy Girl and Windstruck and I think the guy who played in My Sassy Girl is really funny too Also like the actress from My Wife's A Gangster _________________

referring to niko2x... yeah i think now it's the korean drama thing going on...but that 'dai jang geum' really really really really looks super boring to me... hehe..and i see the vcd shops selling like part 1, part 2 and part 3!~! then i'm like...my gosh...exactly how many episodes are there??!!!
i think there's a general trend about korean dramas in that they are very appealing at first, meaning the first few episodes..but after they get to episode 20++, it starts to drag.and drag.and drag and drag and drag...normally true to dramas with 30 episodes and above.hehe.
frankly i haven't finsihed watching a single korean drama before.. first was autumn in my heart..i didn't finish it, i have no idea what happened in the end...next was winter sonata..uhhh not that too..then full house...i didn't finsih that too~ lol..the only one i finished was sweet 18...and that was a fantastic drama~!! and the one uhh..my love patzzi..i finished that too!
hmm.. i prefer japanese dramas to korean dramas generally speaking...japanese ones are short and sweet..the content is fuller..currently watching sekai no chuushin de!!
^ the ones acting in sweet 18 are Han Ji Hye and Lee Dong Gun... =) haha my fav couple! and the guy in My Sassy Girl is Cha Tae Hyun...he's really funny!

Defintintely agree that korea dorama are too 0draggy and try to be tear-jerking with all the corny plots~... Friends are really crazy over Korea dramas now.. cannot stand it..
1 more thing, it seems to me that all Korean girls are more or less the same looks, and most of the popular guys are never half as handsome as Japanese guys~...

i totally agree with you... the girls are just all the same.. i dont know what makes them look same. maybe their eyes? yeah..the actors are not as handsome as the japanese actors. its is just..they are not hot enough for my eyes! and the teenage actors? ukh....

^hmm can't see the pic... but i think that comment was a little...because i don't think korean girls look all the same. don't you think there will be others out there who think japanese girls all look the same too? it's just because we watch more japanese dramas so we can recognise the actresses...but if we watch more korean dramas we can differentiate them too..
and i think korean actors can be hot too... korean ones are more mature-looking and buff.. it's not really about the features but their charisma...like lee byung hun...korean actors are really very very charismatic..to me korean ones are the real hot ones...unlike japanese ones who are usually scrawnier in a sense as compared but look better in terms of facial features. japanese ones bring out a more hippy and youthful look rather than the mature feel... i think it's just about the kind that you like yes...

hmmm...it's true, ne... i can't hardly recognize which actress in which drama...they all look the same...when i buy this movie, i thought it's the girl from the other movie...i'm confused...i think it's because of their hair...

imo, i think most are too draggy. However, I do like The successful story of a bright girl drama. At least there are both humour and romance inside. The other korean dramas I watched are usually sad romance stories. But i guess if I have to choose, korean movies are so much better than korean dramas. _________________
