Thanks for the link. What's up with that site though, they used the blink tag on a paragraph of text! ... eek. For some reason, they link to the movie of the Yagyu Conspiracy at imdb (a/k/a Shogun's Samurai), which I have seen.

Somewhere on that site there's a synopsis of the 39-episode series and there should be a link to Samurai DVD (or something like that), which has the series for sale.

They also call Japanese "Japos". hmm.

Ugh. Not good. Grumble

Sounds intriguing, but with so many episodes and being from so long ago, it sounds like it would be hard to find with english subs (which I need Sad ) But I'll keep my eye out for it.

www.quixium.com/fan/index.htm has the 39-episode first season of Yagyu Conspiracy. Click on the drama section when you get on the site.

You're right; her prices are somewhat high. But she has stuff that interest me which most other sites don't carry: Enka concerts, Kouhaku Uta Gassen, sumo basho, Jdorama like Yagyu Conspiracy. Now if I can only find a site that has the Dotch cooking show that you comment weekly about. . . . Bang Head BTW, I've seen the Yagyu Conspiracy series occasionally being offered on Ebay at prices both considerably higher and also a little lower than what she sells it for.

Yeah, I guess it's what the market will bear.

Still, that seems to be taking advantage of the situation. Sad

Have seen the official site?

I think you can find it by doing a search with the word "Dotch" via Yahoo! Japan... Big Grin

I'm sure.

But it still is price gouging. Like our gasoline prices. bleh

I also like Jet Li and Jackie Chan, and I like Bruce Lee too. Still sad because he died before finishing Game of Death Shameful Cry

I'm sure you already watched Unleashed. Ohh do you have the movie where Jackie Chan does this racing movie??? I think its called THunderbolt....Its pretty hard to find i think, but I've only a bit of the movie, some good action by Jackie Chan Victory! Peace!

If you like Ong Bak, try getting your hands on Born To Fight. I believe its from the same director that did Ong Bak.

i have to say that i was disappointed by born to fight - its not a terriable movie by any means but it isnt anything special either - the action isnt anything that i havnt seen done in a hundred other films and although some of the stunts were pretty good they didnt really look real and were obviously done with wireworks. Shake Head Shake Head Shake Head Shake Head Shake Head

Yeah Yeah Yeah

I moved this post from another topic:

How would you guys rank Lone Wolf & Cub films?

My list:
1) LW&C 4: Babycart in Peril (Great action and great characters hehe)
2) LW&C 1: Sword of Vengeance (Great beginning for the series)
3) LW&C 5: Baby Cart in the Land of Demons (Action could be better but story is interesting. This is the most epic film of the series)
4) LW&C 2: Baby Cart at the River Styx (Simple but entertaing. I love the scene at the riverside with female ninjas)
5) LW&C 3: Baby Cart to Hades (Great opening, awesome ending, a bit slow middle part)
6) LW&C 6: White Heaven in Hell: (Weakest of the series, but still a kick ass film. The first 25 minutes are perfect)

have to agree with you on the jet li - hes definately the best martial arts actor at the moment and i liked zhang zyi in CTHD that was an awesum movie although many people i kno disagree with me. Jet li wise i have to say one of my all time fav movies has to be once upon a time in china and hitman was also awesum - loved those movies.

Yeah Yeah Yeah

I actually haven't seen a whole lot of samurai films, but I decided to chime in.
Is it just me or does Ryuhei Kitamura drive you crazy? His stuff shows so much potential but degenerates. The movie that made him famous, Versus, is great because it doesn't bother with making too much sense. His entry in the Duel project was good because it was very limited & tight in scope & story. Azumi was something of a disaster though. I wanted to like it, cmon, it has Ueto Aya, and Kitamura doesn't dissapoint with creative action & camera work, but the story came across weak. And really majorly suffered from his inability to end the movie!
Just had a chance to see Azumi 2. Unfortunately I have to say I was again dissapointed. Ueto Aya was even more unconvincing. That part, the action, suffered from the lack of Kitamura's work in this movie. And the villans were not over the top enough either.

Nope, it's not just you. I've seen a few of his movies, they all leave something to be desired, like a decent plot. If you take away the action, there isn't much left.

The Lone Wolf & Cub TV series was quite good too. The episode with the Sakai rifle, which he then put into the buggy of his son *snicker* It turned into the Baby Carriage of Death.

Kagemusha, but the uncut version. And definitely Ran. Samurai Fiction, though that one is quite insane, but it has nearly every clichée you like about such movies.

I used to like Jackie Chan, but by now all of his movies are always somewhat the same. And I still prefer his original Hong Kong productions over the stuff he did in the US.

Azumi 2... well... it was ruined in many places, it's a lot weaker than the first part (which is typical for sequels anyway).

I think noticed something though. Whenever a hero in such a movie encounters the baddies, the first three fall at once and the fourth often is the only one who manages to block and live (at least for another 2 or 3 seconds).

I agree with you that his Hong Kong productions are a lot better Mr Green

I didn't think his New Police Story was that much the same as his others....it was quite different.....still good, but I think if he was younger like in his first & second Police story movie, it would've been better

I've only seen the Trek and Aliens Bleah

I haven't seen Spider Man 2, I haven't even watched the first part, for the simple reason that I think Spider Man sucks, I never liked him lol.

Though my theory applies on Star Wars (though those are prequels, but still), or Police Academy, or The Mummy...

It'll be your problem once I force you to watch the Police Academy sequels, or the Delta Force sequels, or maybe Missing in Action 3 or Rambo 3 Or... Rocky 5,000 Twisted
