yup, ratings for taiga dramas r normally higher.. to see how the ratings fare, think pple normally compare ratings of the current taiga with those in the past years...
Average ratings for some of the taiga dramas
2003 Musashi 16.7%
2002 Toshie to Matsu 22.1%
2001 Houjou Jishuu (k@) 18.5%
2000 Aoigawa Mijiro (O) 18.5%
1998 Tokugawa 21.1%
1997 Mouri Motonari (iїA) 23.4%
1996 Hideyoshi (Gg) 30.5%
Kimura has been a ratings legend .. he wld probably made headlines if the average ratings for his drama falls below 20%

Hideyoshi must be an extraordinary series.

That, or it stars Kimura Takuya or similar.

What about the teacher from hell. (The Queen's Classroom)
She is showing steady improvement since the first week implying viewers
are catching on to this great series.
Probably will give Densha Otoko stiff competition for best drama of the season.
