I first saw Konna Koi no Hanashi on an international channel like 6 years ago.

THey showed one episode every week, and i think I missed the first few episodes, but I was still hooked. Nanako Matsushima stole my breath away...she's so refined and beautiful (my dream woman!).

THe worst part is, I had to go to camping on one of the days the series was on, and it turns out that that episode was the ending! I know this because that following week, there was another dorama series playing.

So ever since, I"ve been trying to get my hands on this series, hehe. If anybody would like to trade for the series on mirc, please e-mail me!!!

My e-mail is [email protected], and my aim sn is FunkyYounky.

Domo arigato!

same with me.....the first japanese series that I watched was oshin...I was around 6 or 7... then there were series named Rin Hanikoma..if I'm not mistaken....about a girl from poor family...be a very successful woman...she goes to school....work etc....( it was in an era when girl's dont go to school)....I was still very young too when this series was aired...
then..when I'm in college..'beautiful life' really caught my attention...the story is so great...and takuya kimura & takako tokiwa..make me want more from jap series....
then come GTO....tell me that you love me...long vacation...overtime...love revolution...double score...hero..shot gun marriage..with love...ice world...etc
great actors/actresses combine with good story make a very good series...just a hot cast without a great story..wont really get people to watch it..

To Heart, got me HOOKED. I don't know if jdoramas are like drugs but I've since not seen a dorama that I feel I enjoyed as much as to heart, kinda like how the second hit doesn't get you as high as the first...and you need more...and more LOL Mr Green.

I think one of first Japanese TV dramas I started watching was Tokyo Elevator Girls with Rie Miyazawa.

I also remember one called A Smile In Our Hearts. I don't hear people mention this drama much. About a 40 year old man in love with the daughter of the woman he once loved but could not marry like 20 years ago. I believe this aired a little after Tokyo Elevator Girls 93? 94?

The first one I got hooked on was "Summer Snow", at this point I had only seen anime so it was quite interesting. After it ended I wanted to watch more :p so I then I saw "Great Teacher Onizuka", and at the moment i'm watching "Beautiful Life".

My first.. I'm not exactly sure which was my exact first. ^^; I think it might've been the Great Teacher Onizuka live action.. I downloaded it kind of randomly because I had nothing else to download so I'm like.. "Ok.. This seems interesting." I had never seen the anime series but I though I'd give the drama series a shot. I LOVED it! Then I think I ended up downloading the Peach Girl and You're under arrest drama's. That's what got me hooked but that was all that was on the BT site I went to. Sweat I went to another site that posted new jdrama releases and discovered more. I think after that was Beautiful Life. Big Grin

My first is "Hagure Keiji: Junjou-ha" a cop show with Makoto Fujita who must be about 70. When I was a kid in Japan I remember seeing him on a comedy samurai show. I first saw "Hagure Keiji" about 12 years ago and it's is still on the air. I get the video for it every two weeks.

The detective with the Osaka accent, played by Osamu Bonchi, just got written out of the story. Sad

There is actually a 6-year gap between watching my first Japanese drama and my second one. I once accidentally stumbled across Blue Bird playing on KIKU-TV in 1997 (I live in Honolulu), channel surfing after watching Ally McBeal. Luckily, it was episode 1, so I spent the next 12 or so Monday nights at 9:00pm watching the series.

I didn't see my second Jdrama series until just a few months ago, where a friend of mine loaned me his set of VHS tapes containing Under The Same Roof, after he found out how much of a fanatic I am about Sakai Noriko (I have every photo book, music CD, and even playbills from plays she ever appeared in).

After watching that series, I started watching KIKU-TV again every night, then got lazy and started recording them directly to my computer. My friend heard about my recordings, and recommended I start using them as trading material for other series.

So that's how it all started for me... And I still don't have Blue Bird!!!!! Sad

EDIT - Got Blue Bird now! Smile

Love Generation. That got me started on the Takuya-Kimura-must-always-be-with-Matsu-Takako craze. Stupid, I know.. Now I'm cured of that.

I moved on to see 'Hero', 'Love Revolution', 'Long Vacation', many others. Big Grin

exactly... otherwise I don't think we would have a good impression of them... (that is if the 1st drama we watched was terrible)

The first ones I watched was You're under Arrest and Yamato Nandeshiko. Yamato Nandeshiko was great and is my all time 10. I hated that Sakurako until she changed and fell in love with Wakaba.

Now I can't get enough of it. I'm addicted. Rolling eyes

Umm...I think Sakurako fell in love with Osuke.... Sweat

Although, mind you, sakurako and wakaba wouldn't be such a bad combination, hehe..... hehe hehe

Ok, enough with the lesbian references. The first drama that got me hooked was Konna Koi No Hanashi. Even though I saw it almost 6 years ago, I still remember what happened because it made such a lasting impression on me.

And that was the first time I'd ever seen Nanako-san. I can't say I was captivated at first, but I eventually fell for her (it's more of an acquired taste, I'd say). She's not the type of girl where her cuteness just jumps out at you. It's just...the shape of her body and the alluring feminine mystique that surrounds her movements (fellow Nanako fans will know what I'm talking about) eventually took me away.

ANyways, back to the series. I missed the last two episodes, so I still don't know what happened in the ending. I was supposed to record it while my brother was gone, but I forgot, and he ended up beating the crap out of me later (I think missing the ending hurt more, though).

I recommend you all to watch it. I've seen all the best dramas now, and Konna Koi still tops them all. And if ANYBODY has this drama, please msg me immediately. I still need to find out what happened Sad
