Hmm, the only thing I've climbed was Diamond Head, and it gives you a view of Waikiki and neighboring islands from the top.

Think around a week ago, Diamond Head had a brush fire.
The grass up there is all dead and brown and stuff. I can't remember the last time I've seen Diamond Head as green, if ever. I only think of brown whenever I hear about Diamond Head. Good place to hike though. In high school during the off and on season (soccer and football) I used to jog up the trail. Been around 3-4 years since the last time I've set foot on Diamond Head though.

On another note, Haleakala on Maui is very nice in the morning. Great place to watch the sunrise. Gotta drive up though. It's much longer (hike) than Diamond Head. Some crazy people ride their bikes up there though. Crazy

I think that's the place where you drive up before sunrise, watch the rise, and then bike down. From what I've heard, the temps go from the mid-30s F at the top to nearly 80s F at the bottom. Nut

i got the chance to go up to Haleakaela Mt. And was above the clouds for awhile, but didn't hike too long there. They had bike riders there, and a few tourist even had that shirt, forgot what it exactly said, but something about "Biking down Haleakaela Mt."

Thanks. The flight is at 3pm so I may not be online at all tomorrow. I'll try to login from there in the evenings, but there's no guarantee. I almost expect to see pages and pages of posts when I return. Big Grin
