The korean name was only given to Tsuyoshi of SMAP when Johnny's decided that they wanted him to be in the Korean show, and ... somehow be more korean... he even released 2 solo singles which was sung in Korean ... though am not a pro Smap fan... but guess he isn't a Korean... though he looked like one somehow after that Korean show... but Nakai of SMAP did mention in their program before that, Kusanagi is actually a rather old Japanese surname.. he meant quite long a history.. and Kusanagi's Kanji writing is counted as old Kanji words too... not many people know how to read it...
