Hi! I'm new here so go easy on me, eh? It's been a while since I watched any Japanese shows so I'm catching up at the moment. I started by watching S.O.S., then went on to Beautiful life, Hero, GTO and a couple of more. So far my favorite is S.O.S. I was very lucky to find the show with truly excellent subs by a fan, so I learned a lot of Japanese as a nice bonus.

haha.. i so agree.. there are lots of better dramas than S.O.S.. Sweat

Hahaha, no... actually I found the ABBA thing pretty annoying. Being Swedish I've heard my fair share of ABBA already. Bleah

A big part of why I liked it so much was because of the subs (as crazy as that may sound)... but also because I completely fell in love with the character of Manato.

Right now though I'm looking for dramas with actors that are a little older. (Like GTO, Beautiful Life etc)

Watching Cheap Love. Man...the first few episodes were so incredible, but things started to slow down and get cheesy. I thought this would be a "different" drama because of Sorimachi's occupation as a night club pimp, but it's no different from all the other doramas out there. On the whole, it's still pretty good though. I give it a 9. (Currently on ep.8)

I like Kimura Takuya myself (yes, I know... not very original). He's only a couple of years older than me, so he's okay. Big Grin

Basically I like watching dramas that deal with issues that may come up for people my own age. I'm sooooo past the high school thing. Wink

I hope I don't get flamed for this but I don't like Kubozuka Yosuke. The way he articulates things with exagerated mouth movements just creeps me out. *LOL*

Watching Heaven's Coin 3 now and I like it! I have Heaven's Coin 2 but not 1 and the cast seems to be the same so I was wondering if 2 was a direct continuation of 1? Should I watch 2 before 1??

2 is a continuation of 1... so watching 1 first would be beter.. and 3 is a totally different cast though running on the same kind of deaf-dumb girl plot..

Heaven's Coins 1 was much better than 2 in my opinion. To me, 2 seemed to just drag it on further as if it was a forced second season. IF you find the first one in pretty good quality let me know. I saw it on tape in bad quality.
