Good answer . They should have asked what nationality or ethnicity he is instead of "race" _________________

I'm Japanese-American but my ethnicity is a question to me. As long as I can remember, coworkers, friends, strangers, doctors and my dentist have always asked me the same question - Are you Hapa (mixed)? I've even gotten this from complete strangers - You not Portuguese are you? Mixed? And I always reply...No. I'm pure, 100% Japanese. Why? These are the answers I usually get:
Your eyes are too light and too round for you to be Japanese.
When you're out in the sun, your eyes look almost hazel.
From doctors (and even just recently - my hairdresser here in Glasgow): Your cranial bone structure is different from Asians (I looked it up...there is a difference but not one that I can feel for myself...I don't know).
From my dentist in Hawaii - Your teeth are "funny-kine shape". You Hapa or what? He went on to explain the differences between Asian teeth and Caucasian teeth.
My ancestors are from Yamaguchi and Kumamoto - long known for it's history of Dutch, Portuguese and other foreign sailors and missionaries living amongst the Japanese people there for centuries.
When I look at actresses like Sawajiri Erika and one more (I forgot her name), and how strongly they pulled on their Japanese side, I often wonder about myself.
For now, I just find it amusing. I'm 100% Japanese.
