Regarding Arashi & Kat-tun or Arashi & Kanjani8 - I personally don't think that there is any real animosity between any of the groups. It's probably just played up on the various tv shows, like utaban, in a joking manner, because the friendly rivalry is fun. Kind of like how people enjoy the supposed "fighting" between Ohno and Nakai.

While it's always sad to hear that your favorite group's sales/popularity/etc isn't doing as well because other groups are becoming more popular, I don't think it's in good taste to belittle or defame other groups who do happen to be gaining more popularity. That said, I haven't really been all that impressed with Kat-tun either. But I guess they're still firmly under the thumb of JE since they're relatively new, so they haven't had a chance to really develop themselves or their showbiz personas, etc. I don't know much at all about kanjani8, so I really can't comment there.

kikikiwi - Thanks so much for the secret talk! I'd been dying to hear this. They're really such dorks/so adorable when they get together. XD

And about Arashi doramas to watch:

So far my favorite arashi-related drama is Stand Up! which has Nino in it. It's a wonderful coming of age drama. It's both hilariously funny and very touching/meaningful at the same time. But it might not be for everyone - I've heard people complain about it being too perverted or something.

Gokusen I is also a great one to start on - and I think it probably has a wider appeal. It's basically a "Dear Sir" kind of a plot with the twist that the teacher's grandfather is a yakuza boss and she grew up w/yakuza, etc. It's funny and touching at moments. Jun-kun's in this one.

Kimi wa Petto also isn't bad to start with (another Jun one). It's about a really woman who seems smart, successful, and on top of things, that picks up a guy she find in a box outside her apartment and takes him in as her pet. ...no, no. Not it _that_ kind of way. XD; This is exceedingly cute. So if cute and sugary isn't your thing, I'd pass on this one.

If you're looking for a more serious kind of a drama - I'd really recommend Yasashii Jikan, which is Nino's latest drama. It's about an estranged Father and son. It's not for everyone because the general pacing and feel of the drama is slower. But it's very artfully filmed, the background music and backdrop scenery are beautiful. It's a more subtle kind of a drama.

Is nobody worried about Arashi's hardship in the mago boto competition? I've watched all the recent episodes and want to jump at jisan to hit him every time I see Machan, Sho, Jun and Satoshi with a worried face! ... Seems that Kazunari has choosen the best job ... he is pretty good at directing ppl this is a compiment *still hides from buzzychan* ^^

I wonder how long this is going to continue? Wasn't there something about the comeptition being held on the 19th already or did I imagine that? Anyways ... I think that the real purpose - to make ppl enjoy rowing - went in the totally wrong direction ... nobody of the guys smiles anymore, not even Machan or Satoshi! I'm sure JunJun isn't one who looses his temper that easily, especially on terebi!!! ...

but i especially love it when satoshi came to practise rowing after he's finished with the butai for the day~ and found out that the others were waiting for him there...

this is what my twin told me (sorry if she misinterpret ) : satoshi called sho to say that he's going to come over for the practise, but much later. sho was shocked coz satoshi was quite bz. satoshi told sho that it would be okay for the others to go home bcoz they've already practised for the day. but when he came later that nite, he had a shock as he saw the other 4 were waiting for him.

isn't that cute? i bet satoshi must have felt a bit sabishii at the thought of practising alone, but since he's gonna be late, he might think that it's not fair to ask for the rest of the members to wait for him since they've practised the whole day. but when he saw them waiting for him... wahhh~ i think it's like the faces of the five of them lights up when they saw each other~

i just truly love this group... i got one of my friend to love arashi this week... i mean, i showed her hyd episodes... then i showed her mago2... and she just turned into straight A student in Arashiology!!! she said that arashi really showed the true meaning of friendship... and we've been talking nonstop about arashi these few days... i still couldn't believe it, coz she used to ignore me when i talked about arashi.

This Mago mago boat club I think it really started of with good intentions, I mean Ohno-kun wanted to give something to that ojisan, to make him happy, that's why he offered to help.

How would be have known that ojisan will become so mean to them, I mean, their schedules are really packed and they just wanted to help the old man. Can't the ojisan just loosen up and have some fun?
I mean without Arashi his dream won't be realised. He should appreciate them more.. (like me....) I'll glad go rowing with Arashi anytime, or hiking or picking mushrooms or apples......

i love leader so much, how adorable, i mean even after his butai and he must be exhausted he goes for practice bcos he feels bad. man his reaction when he arrives and sees the members were waiting for him is priceless, they truly love each other :dancing: they were so sweet to wait for him and ohno was so cute to keep his practice a secret so not to worry the others. these moments really make me remeber that he is LEADER!!

hmmmmmm i think its rather unthoughtful for all the bad feelings going to hikaru-san.
not that i like him, but its not entirly his fault that the program is moving like that. after all, he didnt force arashi to do it, and oh-chan is the one who brought up the idea.

a lot of the japanese arashi fans consider that its the producers view that how the "story" of the magomago boat club is made.
the producer of magomago arashi said in the interview in "arashigoto" that he thinks that its necessary for arashi members to battle or fight against something to step foward in a way: hence the boat club thing.
if u think about it, arashi is really really friendly amongst each other,and its one of their strength.
but i must say they lack competitiveness when it comes to getting jobs and stuff. especially compared to younger johnny's groups i guess lol
if u look from the other side, mayb its good to be stimulated by battleing with each other.

and one REALLY REALLY important thing is, the battling between arashi will make the show more interesting lol
i mean, its really nice and heart warming for fans to see arashi having fun together, but for the other ppl watching, a little bit of confusion and distruction between members will intence the show and make things a little bit more interesting.


im not leaning towards both sides, of course im also up for arashi having fun. but im just saying that things are not exactly the same as it looks on the tv screen. a lot of editing would have been done, and its not like arashi members hate each other or anything.....
if they decided to do the show (oh, and someone was wondering how long the boat thing is going to last....apparently 7 weeks including a week with 2 hour special) i just wanna quietly watch whats gonna happen.
im sure the show makers arnt that evil, it should turn up okay in the end.

i think having a tv show is VERY worth it even they have to make efforts like the boat club thing.
i think its quite interesting to see arashi struggling actually, as a normal person whos watching the show....the show is quite good
i mean, it still feel sorry that they have to practice during rains and stuff, but they're grown up guys....they can handle a little bit of torn skin here and there......they're not dying in pain....
i think aiba's shimura doubutsuen is even more brutal lol
but it'll really break my heart if arashi members really do end up not having fun at all during the 7 weeks that mago mago arashi boat club is onaired.....lets hope not.
