Uhm well i watched the whole show one yr ago when i visited my friend in Japan. She recorded it n we watched for 24hrs! We both cried like crazy then... (believe me everyone would!) The last part Jun was very cute

gawh.. I only found out about Arashi from all these posts. I like Matsumoto Jun and I followed up on what else he has done, which ultimately led me to Arashi. I like that song wish .. ehehe.. and Jun's kawaii

Thanks Michiyori for the info! OH! i wished that i got to watch your friend's tape! after seeing that short clip i was curious to see the member's individual performances with the participants. even in the short clip i felt sad already! i'm sure i would've cried a lot too! that's why i can't stand watching those world vision thingies or the humane society stuff.
i guess i'll try and find more about the show too!

yeah...i saw their performance when aiba just sat down in half egg shape chair in the middle...[at that time i just wondering why he just sat there ] poor aiba...but he's better now

1) hm... about Arashi and those cancer sticks... i don't wanna comment too much on it~ i do hate those sticks, and can't stand being around anyone who's having one (the smoke just kill me!)
i just wanna say if those in fact were nicotine patches on Nino...GOOD FOR HIM!~ i have a wild guess that all arashi do smoke.. given the fact they r always working/lots of stress/hardly any sleep.. etc...
but it's what they do during their personal time.. so don't wanna say much..
although i do regret seeing some pics of nino smoking... very regret.. didn't mean to see it.. just did..

5) and i've always wanted to ask this question.. is it a problem w/ my ears.. or.. does singers from Johnny's r well trained on dancing and singing at the same time? i mean.. unless they (arashi) r lip singing.. it seems like when they dance.. they sing perfectly too...and i'm surprise that i can't hear anybody breathing hard.. just a mystery to me.. i mean.. i know kinki kids alway sings live (koichi actually sing the wrong lyric a couple of times n i could tell that they r singing live...).. and they must sing live during their concert.. but of all the con clips i've seen (of arashi's.. and their performance).. i'm really surprise that they can dance hard and also sing in tune~ but i can't tell by their voice if they r singing live or not~ keke~ it's either they r lip singing.. or that they r so well trained.. that their voice comes out well exactly like ones from the cd~ lol~!

wow so many newcomers.... welcome welcome! i knew HYD would bring more to the world of arashi.. me it was gokusen, but yeah, i guess thats kinda obvious from my nick..
anyway i havent been around cuz ive been sooo busy and still have so much to do! but i wanted to welcome everyone to the thread
and as for the smoking.. and the black tooth... i just cant believe it, gawd. they're so young.... and... i cant believe everyone in japan smokes! i cant imagine jun with a cigarette in his mouth, i just cant!!! nor can i imagine any of them really, well except nino since i think i remember seeing a pic of him smoking omgggg. dont they know how bad it is for their lungs?! wahh!!!

Also, for anyone who wants HYD epi6 RAW, i uploaded it on the HYD thread 6x to YSI... for people who cant use BT.
as for singing & dancing perfectly, ive always wondered that too... a part of me hopes dearly that they arent lip syncing and i dont think that they are.... hmm but then again... they never do seem out of breath, do they? altho i thhought i watched a clip where u could def hear breathing. hmm my thoughts are all over the place, must be the sleep deprivation...
anyway, i dont really have a concrete answer (obviously). and i think im gonna go get back to work... will bbl when i have less work, or need to take a break! jaa mate! _________________

haha...Michiyori..i have to thank you again for the link to the amnos site. i read the bio info for each member..and the stuff that i didn't know before..it amused me. Oh-chan is still my fave..haha. he never fails to amuse me.
Oh-chan>> his skills in the arts just blows me away. i've seen his art on O no Arashi. sugoi! what's funny is that he's farsighted! haha, correct me if i'm wrong but most of the members make fun of him (and others too) for being like an ojii-chan right? LOL aww..cute! i also found it kinda amusing *i dunno why!* that MatsuJun is the opposite, he's nearsighted. i read in a translation of the "iza now concert tour [MC]", the guys were making fun of oh-chan's fanny pack/waist pouch?!
He also has trouble reading japanese? i take it he can't read kanji?
i definitely recommend those who haven't read the bios to check it out!
Sidenote: Has anyone seen/read that translated personality quiz for Arashi? i found it/read it from this site..it's basically a quiz and u get to find out which member is your best match as a bf. i was stuck on the last question cuz i could go both ways(both answers/choices was applicable to me)..so basically the result was i ended up w/ Oh-chan haha, the other possibility was Jun!

From my point, i do believe that most of the time Arashi lip-synch coz it is very obvious when it is 'live' and when it's pre-recoreded. And sometimes they will sing together with the 'cds' too. (i hav watched them performing twice for Pikanchi Double on MS, very obvious one is 'live' and yes they are breathless & the other they sing along with the cd)
As for concerts, i have my reserved too. They do sing some songs 'live' but is only the part where they have their solo part (coz Ohno alwaz sing off tune), the part where all members sing together i believe is pre-recorded too...only Sho's rap are 'live' most of the time.
Someone mentioned that KinKi Kids sing 'live' and yes coz their during their concert they used 'live bands' as their background, and the most obvious part we know tt KinKi Kids sing 'live' will be that Koichi alwaz forget lyrics ...but in the past when they juz started singing, they also lip-synch. Thus i believe Arashi will slowly and get to sing 'live' in most of their performances in future. _________________

Arwenna (& prolly others too) - yes! In KwP, Jun's kiss scene in front of the vending machines is hot, as is the one that comes later in the series too. I haven't gotten around to watching Tokyo Tower yet, so we'll have to see about those.

I'm not really sure what to think about the lipsynch issue. I'd always assumed they didn't lipsynch during lives because they frequently go slightly flat and sometimes when they are singing together, they are dissonant. Some performances seem better than others though, but I didn't realize that meant they were lipsynching? In the concert perf I've seen, they don't start sounding tired (ie huffing and puffing or going more wildly out of tune/hoarse) until the end of the concert. I'd just sort of assumed that part of being a Johnny's meant you practiced dancing and singing at the same time a lot, and therefore got better at it. LOL. ^^;;;
uh, cao(?) Nino's also in Yasashii Jikan, which I personally think is an excellent series. It's much different in tone than Stand Up though, so if you're looking for something comedic and fun, this isn't it. It's primarily a sad, touching, and bittersweet story about the estranged relationship between a father and son. If you want something cute and fairly fluffy I guess you could try Minami-kun no Koibito. Lots of folks here seem to have really liked it. Personally, it wasn't really my cup of tea.
I'm not sure who did the subbing though but thanks. Also, the subs only comes out when Aiba reads his letter so don't worry if you don't see subs for what those 3 ladies say at the beginning. _________________

From wat i have seen, i believe most of the time they sing live. As for concerts, i believe it is live (i've read/listened to wat my friends in Japan said aft their summer concerts these recent years -> i believe it is live. And also because for all the songs that they performed, i hav - i believe most of us do - both the live version and the studio version. By listening + comparing, i believe they sing live during concerts )
As for TV shows and stuff, i believe they sing live for all the Music Station shows. I watch mostly Music Station. Music Fair? Hey3x, well, must re-watch againi... I'm not sure about Utabans. Reasons: refer to above. And another reason is that i heard them sing out of tune very very often (if not like 80% of the time there's always at least one small part that someone sing out of tune) Maybe because i used to be a singer for quite a number of years when i was small, i must say i'm quite sensitive to this out-of-tune stuff, altho there may be only one note that is not "right"... ^^
But really, i dun give a hoot about lip-synching. Its not a big deal! I mean like i'm very very happy already to see them there, dancing and stuff. Good enuff! And its not like i'm bragging abt it or anything, but i believe my ears, and i believe arashi sing live most of the time.
