lol~ same here! music is never a distraction for me whenever im reading! and i think it prevents me from dozing off too~when studying i even tried to use the terms i gotta memorise and put it into JE songs! so that when im sitting for the test i may just think of the song and all the answers will just flood in my mind!

about ordering stuffs online i have doubts too... is buying stuffs on cdjapan safe? anyone here uses cash payments instead of online payment? Argh!! my dad doesn't want to sub one credit card for me so i can't buy things online

How idols affect Japanese girls and fans alike.


I first took interest in Japanese boy bands, Johnnys Entertainment�cpreferably called Johnnys Juniors, right around 2004. It was because of watching this show called "Gakkou E Ikou" done by one of the senior groups called V6. They seem such a fun group, interesting, and entertaining and I eventually started to love them. But when I first heard their songs, I thought it was cheerful�cbut not really great singers. But I learned that they sing and it made me know the music entertainment of Johnnys. I never thought that liking a Johnny's entertainment can be addicting and also�cI never knew how much it could actually change a person.

This idol loving became an immediate hobby. It was nice to engage on something and to keep me entertained. And it's nice to see pictures and I never felt any thing big about it. And I truly loved them as performers and I thought all of these people out there fans like me, would love them as talents and not just their looks�cwell I was totally wrong.

I frequent boards that have fans from the entire world. I thought I could discuss them as performers. Well�cthere are only a few people I can seriously discuss their performances and their wellness as a talent. Most are just too attracted to their looks and not see how they may be and what their purpose for being a JE member. JE is for talents, not just people who are attractive with looks. That defeats the purpose. I want people to recognize their talents and also their looks�cbut looks aren't everything�cit's just an accessory of the human body. Not everything goes well having looks�cwell maybe better off than some people but if people like them just for their outside and not inside and outside, it shows how much they have no eyes for people and that they are totally blind.

Also, idols work for us fans but some fans don't understand and ruin it for them. That was the case with some groups. They were followed home; thrown trash, put on loud music, hurt other people and them, and distraction. This cause uneasiness for the idols for to continue their jobs. I wouldn't know how they felt but I can understand that no one loves to be stalked. Idols�cmake some girls loose common sense so they commit these crimes that are against the law and cause disturbance to people around. And what also was crazy is that these crazy fan girls even followed to US to follow these popular groups to just see them. Girls do these things just to see a regular person who's just known worldwide and is popular. It is unfair and really rude. It makes the girls be hated for what they do and get despised by people who used to love them. Then why do they do that? They are mentally crazy and they need to go see a doctor.

Also idols are targeted towards young girls depending on the age level and it brings a wall to the people who are way older and likes them too. Older women have a harder time liking them because there is soo many young girl fans and they feel scared that they are going to get hurt by them because the older women likes the same idol as the young girls. I think these young girls makes wall and makes people lack access because they are soo possessive and doesn't want people to like the same idols as they do. So it starts to become a bit of age racism when it comes to older women liking idols. Young girls seem to send messages to them that "You're not young like us, you're not supposed to like them." Makes older women uncomfortable and make them afraid to step up to the public and even buy magazines that are for young generations. It shows they need more confidence but younger generations are just building a wall to people who want to like them.

When I read these topics with models with idols, I'm like "They seem to look nice together. Nice photo shoot." And get over with it but man; these crazy fans don't end it with that. They elaborate in an immature way that I got fed up. Taking some posts for examples:

These comments�cdon't they sound like immature babies that got their toys stolen? They are soo jealous because the model is so much prettier and that they couldn't pose with their idols. That's selfish and immature ways into taking response to a regular photo shoot. I kind of understand if they think, "All of the fans are immature and stupid." Because many fans are behaving like this. They have no respect what so ever to the idol and the model that are doing their job. Some times when I see disrespectful fans like these�cI feel like quitting as a fan. But if I back off and quit, it means that I'm running away and I can't prove to them�cI'm one of the good fans out there. And I know good fans are out there but there are too many disrespectful fans, it's like�cinstead of being fans, people are becoming rude, obnoxious, annoying, too demanding, and too possessive. I think how they are fans show how much their real personality and selfishness can be.

Well�cI thought it was common sense to let idols have girl friends because you just support them and nothing else. Well some fans can go over board, sending letters of hate, saying evil things on Internet out of jealously. Those girls seriously�cacting like they have been cheated on but they don't even know that person. Girls seriously show that they are possessive and that no one can have their idol except themselves. That shows how much they only care for themselves and their own satisfaction. These people doesn't seem to have a boy friend and I think they can't because their boyfriends will be tired of them and the girls are too demanding. That's the big problem idols cause.

Hi! I need your help. I am having alot of problems downloading via Megaupload...always losing my connection and the dls are often incomplete. I have to start over again as the dl doesn't remember where it last stopped. Does Megaupload has any download manager? There are files on this forum that I would love to dl and keep but Megaupload is preventing me from doing so.

i agree with you to a degree Littleangel91356 fans shouldnt be possesive, and they shouldnt be jealous....

this is hard to explain, i first saw a picture of news on the internet and thought id hear some of their songs... and i loved them purely talent wise and music wise... but the more you tend to look at them, and talk about them the more you appreciate their appearance... so if i love their appearance am i now one of those fans you were talking about?

^ I agree with what you say...and also people just say those things in the forums....where they can express themselves with the other people with the same interest...but hey they don't mean it! There is no actual hate in their words....they just exaggerate a bit so make a point that they like that certain idol....but again....they don't really mean to kick or throw or whatever her.....
Also....er whether we like it or not...JE itself is biased to the members with looks...~___~;; And it's the 1st thing that attracts you... then next you learn more about that idol....then that's when you decide if you really like them....

Oh well....it was just an innocent photoshoot like you said......some fans go overboard, and some don't. I actually like being on this board, cos for some reason, the posters here seem to be more mature and realistic. Reading the posts here don't drive me crazy like some other forums.
