I haven't been up that way in a while, but I remember being a bit disappointed in that Kinokuniya (lotsa stuff I wanted were out of stock), but it is good overall. I like the one in NJ better.....right across the river in Edgewater, in the shopping center w/ several Japanese shops (Shiseido, Mitsuwa, etc.). Since less people shop there, the stock was good although the store is kinda small.

i got this from metropolis magazine
Xbox 360 Lounge
Inexpensive and lively, this Aoyama space is all about fun

When otaku die and go to heaven, theyfll likely wind up in a place like Xbox 360 Lounge. Cheap sugary drinks, free video games, and joystick-savvy hostesses—what more could a socially awkward tech-boy want? Yet with an eye-catching design and a completely friendly vibe, this bar will impress non-geeks as well.
The Xbox 360 Lounge is a temporary bar/café that Microsoft hopes will reverse its ailing fortunes in Japan, where attempts to persuade the locals to give up their PlayStations and Game Boys have not been faring well. The next generation Xbox console, the 360, will be released here this week, and the lounge provides an opportunity to take the games for a spin.
Set up on the grounds of the old Kinokuniya shopping center, which is now home to a rolling lineup of promotional spaces, the Xbox 360 Lounge fits right in to its fashionable Aoyama Dori neighborhood. The glass front presents a gorgeous picture to passers-by, especially at night, when the spacious white and lime interior positively glows. Inside are several showcases with celebrity-designed Xbox faceplates, and wall-mounted plasma screens show movie and game previews. A long bar sits off to the right, where patrons can order some low-cost drinks and food. A couple of sofa-TV combos on the other end are set up with FIFA 06 and Ridge Racer 6. The back wall has smaller monitors for Peter Jacksonfs King Kong, NBA Live 06 and other titles, as well as a table with four Internet-connected PCs. Playing the games and using the
PCs is free.
Xbox 360 Lounge is just around the corner from our office, so we stopped by on a mid-afternoon break. Unfortunately, we were rebuffed in our efforts to sneak in a quick drink, as the liquor doesnft start to flow until 5pm. We settled instead on a luscious green tea-soy latte (\300) and a ginger ale (\200). Then it was on to the games, where white-jeaned beauties helped guide us through the motions. Though the games (and the girls) were mostly Japanese-only, we managed
to make out just fine.
Wefve since stopped back again for the excellent lunch deal, where just \500 buys a choice of several sandwiches, along with small salad, soup, pickles and chips. Beer (\500) and a few cocktails are also available at night, including the Green Illusion (Hpnotiq, grapefruit juice, club soda, \500) and Emerald X (apple liqueur, vodka and fresh apple, \500). Unsurprisingly, the crowd ranges from small children to curious pedestrians to the areafs trendy set.
Microsoft may not succeed in the Japanese video game market, but if the Xbox 360 Lounge is any indication, the company has a bright future as a bar producer: In terms of charisma and entertainment value, this is one of the best bar/cafés wefve been to. And if youfre an otaku, get there while you can: the Xbox 360 Lounge closes January 15, so in this case, heaven canft wait.

seriously, you can spend your whole afternoon, or day easily in a seven story bookstore, and it's Japan-Kinokuniya!
the thing is with their massive stores whether it be dept stores in ginza or shibuya, or electronics in akihabara, books, or whatever the hell...there's tons of those mega shopping places you could spend forever in there....
