i don't necessarily like to watch those hella sad dramas all the time either but you HAVE to watch beautiful life...it's a tremendous performance on the part of kimura takuya. simply amazing...

i dunno reflecting on that drama...i really felt absorbed in the sense you could really FEEL this story about this guy and girl living in the big city of Tokyo, struggling with their lives....the emotion was almost palpable at times.

btw, you should download the latest episode of smapxsmap it shows kimura takuya and tsuyoshi participating in this "mini triathalon" ...they show kimura takuya without his shirt on for a minute or two...that fool is in good shape...he even had some guns (i.e. biceps) i was impressed.

Where would one be able to download these episodes? I'm really interested, but I don't know where to start looking. Sad

I would like to say hello. Yeah, this is my first post on this forum..I've only recently gone into a Kimura craze. ^^ I've heard of him for quite a long time, but it wasn't until I had a chance to rewatch Hero that I suddenly became fascinated with him (too much spare time on my hands, probably...).

I am also looking for Kimura Takuya CMs, Smap shows, and other clips of him. But I'm unable to find many... Is there anyone who could direct me to some sources? Through either torrent, mirc, or download...anything, basically

Thanks for reading this post, I hope to become more active in this community in the future.[/quote]

lol...haha...well my three favorite dramas are long vacation, beautiful life and orange days...the screenwriter for all three is this woman named eriko kitagawa. in any event, i'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it. it's a great piece of fiction albeit a sad one.

Thanks for the jpopsuki site! I've already been to d-addicts, but the former was new to me. I'm really a noob when it comes to j-star fangirling ^^

Is it also the site where one can get CMs and MVs?

I think, IMHO.. if you're a Kimura beginner.. by all means, watch PRIDE last. Everything I watched after Pride (which is not much, hehe) is just so-so... I haven't watched Beautiful Life.. I have this penchant for avoiding total sob out lout dramas because I know I'm going to make an ass of myself by crying uncontrollably.. so I wouldn't know if that would be "his best work"

littlemissfab,
If you havent seen One Million Stars from Sky, may I recommend that you watch it. in my opionion it was Takuya's best. The acting and the story is just great. Applaud Whereas for Beautiful Life, i'm not much into it, but there was this one episode ( dont worry its just one episode) Naughty that you have to have a tissue box at your side. Again, Takuya is so great in that episode - he was really good in crying Applaud

until now I'm still addicted to pride.. I actually have Pride attacks.. When I answer people with "maybe" or say "must be" the grin just can't be scrubbed off my face.. I was actually smiling upon the lightbulbs at Home Depot and Walmart.. now.. isn't that pathetic?

that list only consists of ratings for SINGLE episodes...from a statistical perspective...it's almost worthless.

edit: it's interesting though..i've seen it before.

I'm going through Engine right now, and I find it to be pretty good, actually. Sure, the on-air chemistry with the main female lead isn't there. But I find Kimura's interaction with the kids hilarious and engaging.

Now what I didn't like was Pride...the whole weak, submissive, timid, saint-like self-sacrificing behavior of the main female character and the over-the-top masculine, patriarchal attitude of Halu annoyed me to no end (though now that I think of it, maybe it's a reflection of societal attitudes in Japan...). bleh

Now I know I've annoyed all the Pride lovers out there. Sorry!
