Okay, I have about 397 of them right now - "PV's". But I still don't know what the hell the letters P V stand for :S!!! There's no single tracker / forum that cares to explain abbreviations. Like it also took me a long time to figure out that CM was commercial. Anyway in case you don't know what i mean, I'm talking about the musicvideoclips like those you see on mtv. Please tell me if you know! Bow

Damn! That's not much to go on, but Halcali has a song "Hello Hello Alone" that sort of starts out that way. I uploaded it HERE

I think PV stands for "Pop Video".

Oh, well, I may have been wrong, but at least I helped Halcali get a new fan Smile
Their music is fun, sort of poppy hip hop. You can find some of their stuff at jpopsuki and Tokyo Toshokan.

^^ Didn't know 'bout that other tracker actually.. I only used JpopSuki before... Yay Smile Listening to Tip Taps Tip, it's good. Any recommendations about other groups that do this style of music? I also like m-flo which is hip hop. Victory! Peace!

I'm not particularly into hip-hop myself, but the musical Svengali behind Halcali is DJ Fumiya who is in the group Rip Slyme, and some of their songs I do like a lot, for example: Dandelion, Galaxy, and Rakuen Baby.

Thanks for your recommendations, I'll check them out Smile

By the way, I'm sorry if this is mentioned in a Faq somewhere... but is there a site (Japanese or English) that records the current Japanese top 10 or top 40 or so and also keeps a database of popular songs in the past?

/edit/
and if possible one that also has previews of the songs. I found one that has the the top 40 already: Mr. Heartbreaker's Chart Liner

Smile I liked the song of 'hello hello alone' so much I checked out the lyrics and got interested in the translation so I decided to make a full translation of the lyrics. Cause I didn't really find any on the net either... It's sort of my first attempt at translating a song. Here is the url

Halcali - Hello hello alone

If anyone wants to discuss my translation, you're welcome to do so. I hope the translation makes at least as much sense as the lyrics do in Japanese Smile

Cool, thanks. I was wondering what the song was about. Of course, even when I've seen Halcali's songs in translation, I still wonder what they are about Smile

I was over at Kinokuniya the other day and saw a CD by Yellow Generation. I guess the "J" in J-pop stands for jailbait now rofl

I've seen worst. I saw a couple of weeks ago in an import store, a Chinese band with 5 or 7 (I'm not sure how many) 8~9 year old girls dressed like Christina Aguilera. It was very disturbing. bleh

What the hell is wrong with this world... Shake Head Bang Head
