There is a thread where you can ask for recommendations.
http://www.jdorama.com/viewtopic.2708.htm

You're luck would be better if you asked there.
But anyways....

Hana Yori Dango seems pretty good......i haven't seen all of it, but there seems to be romance in it along with some comedy
Sekai no Chuushin is good too, though its a tear jeaker
Waterboys is high school....though its mainly focused on Syncro Swimming, but its really funny.
Ganbatte Ikimasshoi, though more focused on rowing boats....its almost like Waterboys in a way though, not much comedy (if any Sweat )

I would like to recommend Aoi--Tokugawa Sandai, but only to those who:
--like Taiga dramas
--prefer seeing veteran accomplished actors rather than current idols, CM queens, pop singers, and other young flavors of the month
--appreciate intelligent, well rounded screenplays
--have an interest in Japanese history and culture
--are willing to use their brain when watching each episode
--appreciate quality over superficiality

This series, the Taiga drama for 2000, is absolutely superb. It is totally engrossing, immensely informative, both heartachingly tragic and laugh-out-loud hilarious, and richly entertaining.
The series is about the first three Tokugawa shoguns: Ieyasu, Hidetada, and Iemitsu. It begins with the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, then goes backwards to 1598 before resuming forward until it ends in 1641. Most of the series focuses on Ieyasu, the first Tokugawa shogun.
I loved everything about this series: the beautifully shot scenes depicting the seasons of the year in the opening credits; the informative and often times hilarious beginning commentaries and interludes; the performances of the overwhelmingly veteran consummately talented cast; the great script by James Miki.
When you first start watching this series, it is easy to become overwhelmed with the plethora of names, dates, places, and relationships. I suspect some viewers will be turned off by this tsumami of information and will decide to stop watching. It would be an unfortunate decision because they will end up missing something very special.
Of all the outstanding performances in this series and there are so many of them, not just the leading roles, but a lot of the minor ones as well, Masahiko Tsugawa's portrayal of Ieyasu stands out. His is the best performance I have seen in all the dorama I have watched (and I've watched my fair share of them).
Oh, yeah, for those of you who will only watch dorama that have young popular stars, Yukie Nakama does appear, but only in the 49th (last) episode. rofl

Hi!
I got into Jdrama not long time ago. At first I thought it would be just the same as the dramas in my country, but it turned out to be totally different. My first drama was sekai no chuushin de ai wo sakebu, which is a real masterpiece!

Well, I'd like to know if there are another dramas similar to" Sekai no..", "kamisama mou sukoshi dake", and "1 litre no namida", which are my 3 absolute favourite ones. If it can help, my favourite of the 3 is "sekai no...".
Thanks!
