I bet it's a tit for tat. GMA pulled out Gokusen, so ABS lost any reason to air its own J-dorama. Oh well, let's just hope it even airs.
I think that's the best explanation so far. ABS-CBN is just waiting for GMA's move. Once GMA take a step, only then shall ABS-CBN make a move (manggagaya kasi ). But why involve those jdoramas to this network rivalry, right? _________________

Yah , that's right, that is one of the main reasons kung bakit the two main tv stations in the Philippines are nag-aaway or nag-kaka gulo gulo or something. Is Because If GMA has a show like that the other channel will get something the same as that. I've noticed it in some of the shows the two channels are showing. (But they already shown the doramas that will be shown in their channel. Kawawa naman din yung iba na atat na atat mapanood yun)

Yeah, they already showed previews of Gokusen (GMA) and SOS (ABS-CBN). Good thing that QTV didn't let us down by airing Heaven's Coins (all season) and Golden Bowl. The problem is, those jdoramas already ended last month and was replaced by taiwanese dramas _________________

When these things air in th PI, do they really dub them in Tagalog? Please tell me they don't...!! I remember when I was still living there (I was, six or seven yrs old?) that Bioman (ala Power Rangers type isht), was dubbed in Tagalog. I really, really hated it... having subtitles can't be that difficult, ey?! I know it's for the 'masa', but still, most of the fans who watch JDoramas prefer it that way anyway, yeah?
@saito, i dont see the image.. sayang lemme guess, you cosplayed as saito hajime right? heheh i was just reading about him a week ago.
my fav. guy played him sa shinsegumi too
Yup, you hit the target . And yeah, Joe Odagiri did a good job on portraying Saito Hajime in that taiga dorama . By the way, I saw Odagiri and a woman in an interview last night on Jet TV. Looks like they are promoting a new project but I don't know if it's a dorama or a movie .

Yup, they dub it in Tagalog. They did that in Golden Bowl and Heaven's Coins. The translation and timing is good but some of the voices really suck . The good thing is that they keep the original names of the characters and the theme song . But like you have said, for us who have been watching jdoramas for a long time, we prefer watching them with subs. _________________

At least we were thankful it got some airtime. So I'm hoping Yankumi might tear down some doors...ehem for some valued primetime slot. _________________

Well, HYD hasn't been aired yet in local channels here . The only way you can be updated in jdoramas here is by downloading from the net or subscribe to a cable that have Japanese channels (but you will be watching them raw though). I think networks here want to concentrate on showing old doramas first before the new ones like HYD. But the thing is, only few doramas made it in local television and most of the doramas like Gokusen and SOS (which was supposed to be aired last year) are still in the pending list . _________________

wow $19 for that katana.. wow ang mura nya ha...
with Gokusen im still praying that they would air it here its been 2 and a half months already... dang! hahaha... air it, demmit!!! LOLz XD with SOS, as ive heard from my sis they will never air it cause on the forum there... they made the people choose on whether to air Pambansang Krung Krung or SOS... and the people chose Sandara's show than SOS... [=.=;] tho with Gokusen, i hope they would still play it... demmit...
im happy tho that QTV played Heaven's Coin there cause i made my lola hooked to it.. haha.. oh yeah.. actually even my aunt as well.. they told me it was good.. tho i kept on missing Golden Bowl cause im always not home yet with their time slot... but still ive catch some scenes and its really cute... but too bad they've changed it to Taiwan Dramas... but i hope they would play some more JDramas...
with the away of ABS and GMA, ah lagi namang ganyan eh if someone aired something good and would click to the mass, may pantatapat sila lague.. tho i liked on how GMA moved on how to oust ABS's PBB.. and that is airing Jewel in the Palace... i thought oh yeah another reality show nanaman they would do in order to beat it... but i am so wrong... Jewel in the Palace has more sense watching than PBB... and this is only my POV regarding this matter...
and also, the CDs on Comic Alley are bootleg versions... dapat mamimili ako dun but then a friend of mine explained to me about the CDs they sell there... ndi naman kasi illegal sa Taiwan and China ang bootlegs eh... and the prices are expensive eventhough its a bootleg.. tho with the collectible and other merchandises there are all original... well if manga makikita nyo naman na Mandarin version ng iba... with DVDs... im not quiet sure about it... _________________

I think it's a big gamble that GMA did, putting Jewel, a historical drama against PBB. I do think that ABS one-upped GMA in this slot, since everywhere I go, PBB seems to be the talk of the town. I haven't overheard any dialogue on Jewel in the classroom, in fastfoods, in public transport...
Comic Alley CDs might be expensive, but not as expensive as the original. Gundam Seed OSTs could go as high as P 700 (converted price) in Japan. _________________

Yeah, prices in Japan are terribly expensive . Don't even think of shopping when you go there (well, souvenirs are an exception of course ). _________________

Actually not all. You could buy a big Gundam model for just around P 600-800. A quick trip at SM's Toy Kingdom would fetch around P 1200 for the same model. There's a number of 100 yen (around P 50) shops in Tokyo where they sell virtually everything from kitchenware to neckties to sweets, office supplies and food. It's like the Japan Home stores in Manila. _________________

Well yeah, of course not everything . But generally speaking, most are expensive (especially the cost of living). When my brother went to Japan for a trip, I asked him to buy me some stuffs like doujinshis. I thought it will be cheaper to buy there since it is made from Japan. But when I came across a certain website, they sell the same doujinshi that he bought me and hell, they are selling it cheaper in that website . Strange isn't it? . Anyway, he did save some money when he bought some electronics stuff because he bought them in Akihabara . And the Ryoko Hirosue calendar was cheaper than in yesasia . _________________
