come on everyone why are you being so pessimistic about the 'New' Arashi?

change is good. it allows for growth as individuals as well as for the group. when d no arashi changed to g no arashi, we were sceptical. but the guys have proofed to us that it is a good change. we have gotten used to it and they are also doing it more as a group. this show have given them more scope to try out different things as individuals as well as a group.

the same with mago mago, when they changed it from Arashi no waza ari, they have also grown as individuals and built better team spirit through their training for the boat race.

it is true we all love it when they are together as a group but they are also individuals that need to grow their individual potentials. besides, the J-Storm official said that they want to have a better Arashi with more appeal. this is good for them. as you know some members of Arashi is pretty low profile, with more individual projects musically and otherwise, it will bring more recognition and publicity to those low profile members thus enhancing the image of Arashi.

doing separate projects would not break a bond forged through sweat, tears and laughter. in fact i believe that it will bring more benefits to the group. as each individual learns they always bring what they have learnt back to the group. if any of you have seen the All or Nothing DVD, that has always been their aim. to learn and grow individually and then contribute to the group thus being a better group.

so instead of shooting this down, we should continue to support Arashi. the new year is only a week old. the ONE Con DVD non-release is old news. get over it! there is always a silver lining behind a cloud.

look forward to their new single release and other projects. and i'm saving up as much as i can so that i could go to Hawaii at the end of this year to cheer for Aiba if he really runs in the Hawaii Marathon!

sorry for the long post, but i had to get that off my chest. reading about you wanting to burn down buildings is so depressing.

I hadn't really thought of it that way... It is a way for them to grow, but I think it's kinda different than from going to D no Arashi to G no Arashi... I mean, I've only been their fan since September 2005, and I didn't really follow all that was going on then, even though I was dl'ing left and right. But this new Arashi is a new way to grow, yes, but to me, as a fan, it feels like they are kinda forcing them out there, and making them go solo. Jun wants them to stay together, and I"m sure the rest do too, and I don't think Johnny's would split them up, but it feels kinda like thats where they are leading.

Another thought on it though. One way they may be thinking of taking it is so they can learn to stand on their own in all areas, not just acting and the other things they do alone. They rely on eachother so much, they need to learn to be on their own. I love how close they are, but they each kinda specialize on one thing when they are together, and it seems almost like they have personalities that have been structured to be able to play off eachother. So by forcing them to do solo tours, and create more solo music, they have to create a personality that can go on it's own... if that makes any sense... that's kinda where I'm seeing it going... ^_^ (now that I've thought it through)

I'm pessimistic in a way too! It's actually not because I don't think that Arashi might really be able to handle their way to the 'new and improved(?)' Arashi, but I'm so pissed with all the damn stupid desicions Johnny made last year [and in general, also with other bands]

I know that Satoshi didn't really have the chance to prove his talents until now, we all know of course that he is an excellent dancer and singer, so the solo will just focus on him and not only show him as ONE OF 5 ... the same goes for Sho! Jun and Kazu have been in the spotlight for a long time now, it's time for Riidaa to show his abilities~ *fight-o oh*
but then I think of Machan holding a concert all by himself ... *sniggers* don't get me wrong, I really like him and I think his voice is very special, but with all the mistakes in dancing (he's a star, he doesn't need choreographies LOL) and his voice that sometimes needs the support of Sho's, I just dunno if this is a wise desicion?!?!
And Satoshi hardly was in doramas, so the sentence 'other than the solo dramas and butais they are doing now' wouldn't work for Satoshi, imo~

On the other hand, I see this as an oportunity for the boys to prove that the team might be strong, but that their solo works might also succeed [which I'm 99% sure of] They'll need to work hard as individuals now too, not only rely on what the whole group wants and desides! Let's hope that Johnny gives them a lil free space for their ideas [AT LEAST HERE!!!! ]

minitotoro: If you have access to livejournal, there is a community called jdramas, and there you can get the whole series on megaupload. That's how I'm getting it... ^_^ hope that helps. The files are split, so you need something like hjsplit to combine them...
