ok..after reading the last 6 pages of this thread made me MORE depressed
first, there wont be a ONE dvd..WTF! how are overseas fans supposed to see their one concert?! that's freaking selfish! im sure the dvd would be completely sold out!
..as if its EASY to get tickets for their concert, its NOT EASY!
and yeah, JE apparently favors JAPANESE FANS and sometimes i do feel that they ABANDON their overseas fans..but i appreciate their efforts by bringing their artists to the US and some asian countries like taiwan, thailand. BUT GAWD! DONT DEPRIVE US OF A CHANCE TO SEE THEIR ONE CONCERT EVEN IF ITS FROM THE DVD!
..i remembered when the 1st tsubacon was released only to FC MEMBERS! argh! and now, much worst, they're not releasing the one concert dvd at all! &^$%%^$%#%$#%!!!!!!

of course JE favors their japanese fans...it's a japanese company, based in japan, with japanese talent and japanese clients. 99.9% of the fan base are JAPANESE. it might be frustrating that overseas fans can't get as many things as people who live in japan, but that's the same with anything in the world. i doubt JE is that aware that there is a fanbase outside of japan (since it mainly seems to exist on the internet), and they can't really do a lot because of the language barrier and costs.
at any rate, the ONE DVD decision is pretty much final, so it's no use getting worked up over it. after all, it's only a DVD, there will be much better releases later in the year, i'm sure. ^^ _________________

I love Ohno Kun! he's so cute/nice. when i saw him in concert during countdown, he was waving to so many of his fans and when he shook one of his fans hand, the girl almost fained cuz she was so happy..

yeah, you have a point there. most of the japanese artists do concentrate on their local market. i guess, they earn enough just by concentrating on their local fans.
but i would like to disagree on "its the same with anything in the world" if you meant other artists. western artists do go out of their country and target to be known worldwide. korean actors and artists do go to japan and other asian countries to promote their series. they even release their series with english subs for overseas fans. taiwanese artists release overseas versions/ taiwan version and even international version of their albums for overseas fans and would go out of taiwan to promote also their series.
any artist would want to be known worldwide and to reach out to their overseas fans. if i remember correctly, the VCD version of their prior concerts were released for overseas fans, the reason for the vcd to be an overseas version. while the dvd version which was the japan version is also made available for the overseas fans but for a much higher price.
just by releasing overseas versions of their concert or albums, i believe they do recognize that they have overseas fans and not just over the internet. in my country alone, there's quite a number of arashi fans. and we do order online their albums and whenever we get to visit an asian country, we do buy JE stuffs as much as we can. it's not just over the internet that we get our stuffs.
but i guess you're right in saying that there's nothing that can be done. it's just frustrating i guess. yeah, maybe next time will be much much better.
i think japanese should tour around the world. i think its pretty hard for the johnny's boys tho cuz they have school and the johnnys department are very strict. a lot of japanese artists do tour around asia tho. like NEWS had a concert in taiwan and nakashima mika, boa and hirahara ayaka went to that concert thing in i think korea (i was very surprised that there was soo many fans)! but its probably really hard for them to go touring to different countries. i mean, they are still young. hope everyone still supports johnnys! _________________

U just choose your fav. pics, cut a circle with 5.5cm in diameter, print it out, and bring it to the uncle there. But i think for custom-made, the minimum number of pieces u must do is 20, and it's like 3$ each...

aww!! i want arashi bandages!! that sounds so cool! its kinda expensive..but not for arashi!!! gosh! that would be awesome! singapore seems like they have quite a lot of arashi goods to me. where i am now doesnt have anything besides a small japanese goods store. and it rarely has any arashi. i went to the johnny's store in Harajuku and it was really really good! they have so much arashi stuff like uchiwas and stuff...but its really really small. _________________

sometimes overseas fans' only way of seeing Japanese artists is through their DVD releases. yeah perhaps it's just unfortunate that we are from another country, or on the other side of the world, adoring and loving them. but that's precisely why we get so worked up with (petty?) things like these. but then again, if JE deems this is not a good plan, we really don't have much choice.
like what i've said in my previous post, it's inevitable that the talents of JE artists will be known to other countries and not in JAPAN only. so I (and perhaps a lot of you) am also hoping to see them one day go out of JAPAN and perform in more countries (especially in Asia) coz surprising as it may seem, YES, they DO have a lot of foreign fans.
i don't really know what the policies inside JE are but i hope they realize (very soon) the existence of other fans. and as i've also mentioned, i guess bringing TxT to other countries for promotions is a start. Let's hope that Arashi will follow suit as well as the other JE groups. _________________

i think, j-storm made legal copies of concert dvds, in taiwan, and maybe singapore, but not anywhere else.
the problem about the japanese artists is that...........okay, well, they might be a little of a stuck up. sorry to say this, but if arashi had significant popularity in US, the jimusho might jump on to the business chance. but for the asian countries (except korea) i dont think they will actually bother making a big fuss about it.
its partly because of how much money they might get out of the business, and japanese tend to.......not care about other southeast asian countries.
for them, its probably like......oh so they have popularity? so what? lol
ive also heard arashi themselves say that they will rather become more popular in japan, even through they realize they do have fans overseas.
