Well, the literal translation would use the verb �E��(korosu)

�E�����E����邩 (korosu ka korosareru ka)

but, a more metaphoric way would to be to use the verb �H�� (kuu), or "eat":

�H�����H���邩 (kuu ka kuwareru ka)

why dont you post the english letter here so random people could help you work things out instead of just one person. its faster that way and would work out more efficiently too.

Is there a polite way of asking someone if they understood what I said? Like if I said something in japanese, and I would then ask the person if she/he understood me.

I would personally say ������܂��� wakarimasu ka ~ "is it clear / do you understand". I don't know what other people have to say about this but it feels like this to me...

If you say wakarimashita ka, it sounds a bit like you are concerned wether the other was capable of understanding you (ie: 'smart' enough), while wakarimasu ka is a bit more subtle into the direction that maybe you couldn't explain so well... But as I said this is just my feeling so...

Anyway either are acceptable polite ways of asking "Did you understand"? Especially for a beginner, it will be no problem. If you are of medium/high level Japanese maybe you would say something politer like "I'm really bad at explaining so I don't know if you can understand me"...

wakarimasu ka is polite enough for me
and i would say for the general public.
just say it in the appropriate tone.

Well, it's usually written

but what you have is a valid Japanese word.

However, it means more along the lines that of a "song that was used somewhere in the show" rather than just an ending song.
That is usually written

�G���f�B���O�e�[�} (ending theme)
