She plays a small part in 'No. 1', a special TBS year end (2001) drama, starring Kubota Yosuke.
Her impending 2002 work includes movie, 'Inochi', adopted from the novel of the same name by Yu Miri. It's about the love life of Yu Miri and Esumi would be acting as Yu Miri. Both of them are pretty good friends in real life. Hope this information helps.

It depends on what type of dramas you like, meaning not just the genre, but also "newness" in the appearance of the drama. For example, many people think that Tokyo Love Story is a spectacular drama, but when you compare it to something like SOS for example, you can see how much directing has changed. If you're new drama fan, you might not like some of the older dramas, just because of the way they were filmed. I found that I couldn't watch Tokyo Love Story when I first started watching dramas...
But I digress, some of my favorites are: Long Vacation (you have to see this, it's a classic!), Ikebukuro West Gate Park (pretty interesting drama, not typical at all, very controversial, about gangs in Tokyo), GTO, Long Love Letter, Love Story, Koori no Seikai (Ice World), and Love Complex (you may not like that one though, it's pretty confusing) to name a few.
Another thing you can do is read the Discussions on Dramas: Top 5 dramas of all time. It'll tell you what people like.

pls give some opinion why i should or shouldnt buy it
This is Eyrien. I'll tell you which ones I recommend of the ones on your list I've seen (some I haven't yet.)
2. The Ring. I would get it, it's a classic, plus it's got Nagase Tomoya. I personally think it's the best horror drama series out, it and Rasen (Ring II).
4. Hitori Gurashi: DON'T GET IT! It's the worst drama Tokiwa Takako has ever done, I didn't like it AT ALL.
5. Love Story. GET IT! I LOVE THIS DRAMA! It's get a great cast of characters, with Nakayama Miho, Toyokawa Etsushi, Katori Shingo, Haruhiko Kato to name a few. It's a light, fun, romance drama about a brilliant (but in a slump) writer, his editor, and the people around them. And the opening song by Spitz is wonderful as well.
7. Koi no Kamisama. Hmm, personally, I would only get this one if you're a Kashiwabara Takashi fan. For me, I didn't like the drama because I HATE the male lead (Ishida Issei). The story was pretty boring too, a girl who has been dating her boyfriend for six years decides that perhaps it's time to break up with him because of his lack of ambition. At the same time, the boyfriend somehow manages to land a modeling job the equivalent to Johnny's Jr (though I don't know how, he looks like a monkey!). K.Takashi is someone who's taking English classes at the school that the girl teaches it. He has an interest in her. I dunno, it was just really mediocre. I watch it for Takashi only.
9. Wife is Three Stars. I don't know much about this one, but if it helps I'm going to buy it soon!
10. Under One Roof 1. Again, don't know much about it, but everyone says it's extremely good, so I'm getting it as well.

Thanks for your opinion.. Now im in doubt whether to buy or not to buy 'Hitori Gurashi' Maybe i'll give it a miss if its really that bad..
Thanks..but can u tell me what Hitori Gurashi about? Cause when i read the review it sounds pretty good.. but i dunno.. maybe its not as good as it seems

And yea .. now i think im going to get 'Love Story, Wife 3 stars , and koi no kamisama.. i cant find under one roof and the ring in Malaysia !! *pouts*
i don't know if you all will like the newer dramas that come out because i've noticed that the trend has been to 'kill off' major characters because the producers can't think of any other way to end the drama. i won't say which dramas do this to prevent any spoilers to be posted. although, i must say that it's rare to find a drama with an all around happy ending that makes sense.
of the newer shows though, i'd strongly recommend Koi ga Shitai starring Watabe Atsuro, Mizuno Miki and Kanno Miho. truly deep drama. almost made it on my top 5. some other good recent ones include, Big Wing, Oyajii, Manatsu no Merii Kurisumasu, Pretty Girls, etc.
not too familiar with a lot of these dramas although i did like Love Story. Ring, that was a little too trippy for me. Hitotsu Yane no Shita .... didn't watch the first series, but it's supposed to be a classic. i, too, am looking for a subbed version of this one (english though).
some other dramas i'd recommend:
yamato nadeshiko
koi ga shitai
manatsu no merii kurisumasu
oyajii
kinpachi sensei (1997 and 2000)
the top four aren't too hard to find, it's just kinpachi sensei that you'll have a hard time finding. the series is too long for most drama traders to tape it. although i do have the entire 2000 series (except for episode 8).
Wow, you'd really recommend Koi ga shitai? O.O I love Kanno Miho and Watabe Atsuro but I just didn't really like this series at all. Watabe Atsurou's character didn't even really LOOK in Kanno Miho's character's direction until the last couple of eps. I really felt like it was way too much a one sided love until those last couple of eps, and I reaaaaaallllly wanted to like that series ;.;
yes, i would recommend that series. what really factored into my recommendation is the quotes that they'd say at the beginning and end of each episode. those are pretty deep. i admit it wasn't the best ending. i would've liked to see more closure, but nonetheless, i think they captured the essence of love.

Koibito Yo (9 Stars) and Virgin Road (10 Stars) are great shows. Please check out the related reviews in this site. Virgin road is one of my all time favorites. And Koibito Yo is another classic that will keep you watching. If you plan on buying these, go right ahead! Koibito Yo is hard to find but I purchased it from www.sakuramedia.com a month ago with Chinese Subtitled.
Perfect love is OK, the script is not as strong! Just average.
