Just finished "Gokusen 2". I've read a number unfavourable reviews on this drama, and really wasn't expecting much - I was pleasantly surprised. The story hasn't changed much from the previous incarnation, and Nakama Yukie worked hard to keep the exact same Yamaguchi Yumiko. Nevertheless the plots are sufficiently entertaining.
yeah, the unfavourable reviews are more due to the repetitiveness and practically identical formula used for each ep than the drama itself being bad. personally, i don't think it was a bad drama and to an extent i enjoyed it but it was certainly very, very repetitive.

Just finished revisiting an oldie - Long Vacation. I'm still amazed by Minami's (Yamaguchi Tomoko) vitality, not to mention her sexiness in a careless sort of way. A bit of shame about Kimura though - it looks as though he hasn't progressed at all over the past 10 years. The way he acted in Long Vacation, while very fitting to his character, is exactly the same as his more recent roles such as in Pride and Engine.
Highly recommended if you have a few hours spare - this drama is still good, better than a lot of recent drama.

some might agree with that assessment..but tomoko yamaguchi stopped acting not long there after....i agree her keen comic talent is something to behold....
see kimura takuya in a million falling stars...not your typical takuya drama. ..or just wait till his film appearance in One-Line Samurai...that'll be a real test of his skills.

This weekend I rewatched Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi and Sleeping Forest, mostly because the first time I watched them, it was really intense so some parts I didn't understand and I didn't catch everything. They're both Kimutaku dramas, I know, but what can I say, I'm addicted. It's refreshing to see Kimutaku play the villain or the creepy guy for a change, rather than the usual pretty boy/hero protagonist.
After rewatching Sora Kara, I realized again how flippin weird and crazy the ending turned out to be. The first time I watched what the connection was between Yuko and Ryo, I was really shocked by it and was like, "Woah!" The second time around watching it, I saw how in the previous episodes it showed hints and foreshadowing leading up to it (ie, the scar), so I shouldn't have been so shocked by it.

I'm not a fan of the whole incest thing, but I still enjoyed watching this drama.
I really wanted to hate Ryo but freakin Kimutaku is so damn charming that I couldn't help but feel sympathy and compassion for the guy, even though half the time he was doing rotten stuff.
I think Sleeping Forest is one of my favorites. I think I enjoyed it more watching it the second time because I knew what was coming and understood more how certain twists in the plot came about. I like watching intense, dark, or mystery dramas every now and then. Again, it's kind of weird watching Kimutaku take on the creepy/stalker guy in the first few episodes but it's really cool, because he can pull it off really well. I'm just glad that his character turned out to be a good guy after all, though, as the story progresses. _________________

True, true. But there are dramas on DA that have nudity as well.
right on...i don't really watch doramas for that shiet....dude, when it comes to something as trivial as kissing scenes...it usually looks like the guy is trying to kiss a piece of dead wood...or tryin' to hump a piece of plastic. fake-o-rama.
