For anyone who's interested, there's also an offical DVD version out with "Engrish" subs. You can get it off ebay for around $24-30 (though I've seen it as high as $44). Again, the subs at times aren't great, but you can at least make out what's going on, and it's not a bad price it you want crystal clear copies.

I don't believe so. It may be because it's a import and was only meant to be sold in Malaysia and Singapore. I can vouche for the seller on eBay however (so far the only seller). I had no problems ordering from her. My only complaint was that she dropped the price a week after I bought my copy Sweat.

Actually, I think she's in California Sweat . Here's the company's e-mail addy from the back of the package though. Perhaps they can point you in the right direction of who's selling it there or maybe even sell you a copy. E-mail: [email protected] and if you felt like calling it's 607-3313585.

I wasn't actually hooked on taiwanese drama then... I just watched coz I thought the idea of "idol drama" was quite fresh then (when compared to local drama serials...) But right now where there is a sudden explosion of idol dramas in the Taiwanese market... oh well... Shake Head

So far, the complete serials I watched are Meteor Garden 1 and MVP Valentine.

And there are some other serials which I saw on TV... or I didn't complete the entire series coz I can't stand to watch any further *cringe* Sweat :
Meteor Garden 2 (caught the first 1/2 hour of the first disc, until the part where they went to Barcelona -- I can't watch further coz they are not doing justice to the original story); Rich Boy Taro (I watched the first episode and stopped coz it's super exaggerated... Sweat ); and I also caught a few episodes of In Love with the Manager (don't know if that's the title, gomen) and the current Westside Story on TV...

It's not much... but after watching these taiwanese dramas I'm certainly glad that I switched to J Doramas!!! Beaten hehe

I find twdrama like kdrama, too melodramatic. However, there are a few good gems like Meteor Garden, Princess Pearl, Young Hero Fong Sai Yuk and The Duke of Mount Deer 2000. Altough, one of them is based on a Japanese manga and the other 3 are period dramas.

Currently watching Chinese Ghost Story TV drama which is OK and it has some HK actors in it and Xu Xi Yuan from Meteor Garden.

I Not Stupid as in the singaporean movie..? Chatter

as for me, i'm so not a taiwanese drama fan.. well jdoramas can make me cry like an idiot, Meteor Garden 1 didn't at all, and i didn't like it .. didn't watch the sequel

i love Toast boy's Kiss though, because it has a lovely plot and that's the only taiwanese dorama that i watched both the 1st and the 2nd part at least more than twice..

Failed projects Beaten include: westside story, rich boy taro, that horrible jolin tsai one (though xiao zhu was cute), my mvp valentine (i mean, the lead actor really cannot act!!).. etc..

i', probably going to watch the rose .. it's showing on tv soon because i like zheng yuan chang.. Mr Green but once it's shows hints that it's going to be long and draggy, then no go for me..

I'm watching Romancing In The Rain, (thanks to the mysterious seeder of this heh) Mainly because of Vicky Zhao, is not a bad drama at all.

My MVP Valentine was OK, Meteor Garden is too corny stopped watching on the second ep and Lavender started well end terrible.. Shake Head

Agree with you on Lavender, I just couldn't drag myself to finish it. I tried but gave up 3 times. No more for me.
