Sorry for doubling. I'm getting a lot of can't post, no connection, signs when I try to post, then I come back and find it did post.

I guess there are a few bugs left in the new system.

I'm glad Haru finally ended. I can dry my hankies now. I'm looking forward to Furuhata Ninzaburo. From what I gather, the "Final" is the last three episodes of the whole series and ran as three "specials" in 2006. The feature guest is Ichiro Suzuki of the Seattle Mariners.

If so, it sounds cool. But those are both (they did 2 series, on in '96 and the second in '99) pretty old shows, even for KTSF.

Have they done one more recently and it just hasn't found it's way into the data base?

Oh well, like ap said, we'll find out tonight.

There were actually 3 full series of Furuhata Ninzaburo; the first one was shown in Japan in 1994. I don't remember seeing it on KTSF, but I didnt start watching KTSF religiously until about 1995. And I've heard there have been other FN "specials" over the years, but probably none of them have been on KTSF.

Note: this will not be the first time KTSF shows a non-subtitled dorama on Saturday. Shortly after TTV stopped showing subtitled doramas on Sunday nights, I remember FujiTV showed "Perfect Love" and then "Omiai Kekkon" without subtitles, in the late timeslots (11pm, 10pm). Fortunately, they abandoned that idea and went back to showing subtitled dramas only - then started showing those comedy/variety type shows in the later timeslots.

NOT SUBBED!!!

Dang. I hadn't noticed that in the previews. I just assumed that since it was on on Saturday nights it would be subbed.

Rats. And I'd been looking forward to seeing the show.

actuallly, i think geezer is right, this show is not going to be subbed. even thou the previews are not subbed, they usually have a notice about the show being subtittled in english. seconed, this is a fuji-tv[jpn] show and fuji-tv still has the ban against subtittles on their programing in the usa.

i hope i'm wrong

Oh well. Like everyone else, I'll watch the first one... and hope.

It's just annoying because there's no way I can watch a detective show with no subs.

Re: no subs. I've pretty much given up on the Sunday shows. But I was flipping channels on Sunday night and there was something on after "Doctor in Love".

It looked like a one episode story about a woman who'd had plastic surgery, and the guy she was going out with finding out about it in the airport. (I don't want to say anymore since some might not have watched their tapes yet.)

So--- what show is that? Since I came in half way through I really have no clue what I was watching.

The woman looked an awful lot like Maki Sakai.

I checked the TTV web site but couldn't make head or tails out of it.

Anyone know the show I'm talking about?

Was it directly after Doctor in Love? At 10:30, Nyokei Kazoku (with Yonekura Ryoko) was airing and then the Happiness show at 11:30. The website doesn't indicate a new series. Head Scratch

The only new thing they are saying is that the Shinsengumi special will be aired on 4/30 and 5/7 at 9pm. Link to NHK page

dochira,

Actually, the show was on after Ryoko's "Matrilineal Family".

It ended at about midnight and it was obviously intended to be a 45 minute (without commercials) long episode of something. I came in when the show was half over.

Yahoo lists the show in that time period to be "CoCo Rico's" but like I said, I haven't been following the Sunday shows, so I have no idea what that is.

This thing was a nice little story, with a cute O. Henry plot twist at the end.

Thanks for the tip.

Although I liked things like Kiken na Aniki enough to watch the whole thing, I haven't been interested in Ouku or either of the dramas playing at the moment. And the lady from "What is Happiness" used to be a psychic before she became a professional know-it-all, so I have very little patience with her views too.

So this early Spring, I've just been avoiding Sundays. But since the move from 8:00 to 8:30, I guess they don't have time for "What is Happiness" anymore, and if they've replaced it with something else, I'll certainly set my DVR and give it a try.

HAHAHA! When I saw the preview I was like "Wow! They found some actor who looks just like Ichiro Suzuki!" D'oh.

Looks like Ichiro Suzuki is only appearing in the second of the three episodes of Furahata Final.

The new show is 100% unsubtitled!

WHY would they do that in this time slot? Couldn't they have found a subtitled show to run? I'm so sad! My roommate was looking forward to a new drama starting on his birthday, but he speaks even less Japanese than I do.

Okay, where's that e-mail address to express out profound disappointment to? I hope a LOT of us will write in.

I also feel embarrassed that I told my Japanese classmates who hadn't tried the channel before to tune this weekend so they could catch the beginning of a new series. :/

At least it sounds like you guys say it's only 3 episodes...but I think we need to write in to increase our chances of the next show being subtitled.

Actually, the series will probably run for 6 weeks...each of the 3 episodes split into two parts. Since these were special episodes, most likely they all ran originally for more than an hour each.
