i've only seen minami in boku no madonna and orange days but i think it's extremely whack that she basically plays the SAME role in both doramas....the great girlfriend who gets jilted...this appears to be some serious typecasting...

i hope her other roles are not in the same vein...i might joke about her onyx looking alien black eyes but i believe she has greater range than exhitibited in the aforemenationed shows...it's not a dig on her just an unfortunate reality i believe.

An interesting theory, SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! In Hotman, she was the oldest sister trying to keep the family together, but she DID get dumped by her boyfriend. In Fireboys, Yamada had a major crush on her, but she already had a boyfriend,(Yamada was shattered) In Tentai Kanzoku, she was living with Odagiri Joe, he was involved in some shady operations and got killed. I think she's more likely to be cast in the role of someone that gets dumped by her boyfriend than say, Ryoko chan. Any guy that would dump Ryoko would immediately be sent in for psychiatric help!

Question: Is the website konishimanami.net actually done up by herself?? It just struck me that most of her photos are self-taken rather than taken by somebody else... And also, it's been long time (really long..) since any update from the official site.. hmm..
Also, no drama from her lately after she casted in Ruri no shima...

She's currently making the movie Tenshi no Tamago (see post on 3/21/06)

This is the fantasy I had of who would be waiting for me when I came back from vacation. It didn't come true. but it was still a nice fantasy

In "Ruri no Shima" her character did not have a boy friend at all. In general though I think she has been type-casted for those cool, pragmatic roles, independent and even taking care of others. I'd like to see how she'll perform in a totally emotional or whacky role.

Personally I prefer nice simple fantasies involving just me and one other - three's a crowd as the saying goes - but then to each his own...
