I tried "Stop watching this topic" and I received them the second I posted another message. My double notifications are apart by an hour or so. I know there was a problem with the clock on the new server. (The daytime saving actually). I'm back to GMT -5 and the time is ok, I don't know if it's the same for you in GMT -8. Head Scratch

me getting a notification is about as likely as you driving a million miles to get that ajisen ramen....it'll have to wait for later. Bleah

anybody trying to spit game at a girl by taking her to a ramen shop should expect nothing if he happens to go home with her...or should i say if she hasn't already left his ass.

Re-activation e-mail problems here. I can't get into my account because the reactivation e-mail doesn't come through.

Can an Admin check if the server can send e-mail to the freeler.nl domain?
It could be a DNS lookup failure. The server should be able to find a MX record (Mail eXchanger) for that domain. On a recent Linux machine you can type:
Code:
host -v -t MX freeler.nl

It should list several addresses in the answer section.

If that is not the problem, who do I contact with what information to reactivate my account?

Thanks in advance for any help.

For contact, that would be Genma. The only admin. http://jdorama.com/viewprofile.2.htm
I think his email is [email protected]

I think Ruroshin had access to the server at one time, but I think it was when the site was co-host with d-addicts.

Hi there,

There's no problem with the DNS records, all looked fine for your domain.

Its a problem now that we don't have a mail server, so I can't really check why the mails are not being sent over to some of the servers. Is your mail server using some spam filter? Could you check if JDorama.com's IP is within any block list that your mail server might be subscribed to?

BTW, please keep to topic. You may start a ramen thread elsewhere, coz the extra posts make it harder to look for the important ones. Thanks Smile

It's a DNS problem. Could be on the computer, the proxy or on the ISP.

In a command line, you can try this:
You can try this in the command line. In the start menu, click on run and then type cmd.

In the blackbox type:
Code:
nslookup www.jdorama.com

Something like this should pop up:
Code:

Server: ns1.yourisp.com
Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: jdorama.com
Address: 72.20.18.85
Aliases: www.jdorama.com

If the 1st server is your ISP, but the jdorama's IP address is wrong, the problem may be your ISP. Sad It means your ISP namespace server, the one that convert DNS (jdorama.com) to an IP address (72.20.18.85) as not been updated yet. Usually it takes up to 72 hours, but it's almost done between 24 to 48 hours. By editing the host file, it skips the lookup on the ISP namespace server and go straigh to the specifed IP. It's like dialing a phone number directly instead of looking in the phone book. In their case, it's like they still have the old phone number. Since it's been a while there must be another problem.

Still in the command line, you can flush your DNS cache with this line:
Code:
ipconfig /flushdns

oh okie.. will pass these information to my friend. will keep you guys updated. thanks!

Hi everyone, sorry for the long absence.. (I left on the 14th, so anything from that date wouldn't have been looked at)

The email should be working. Did you check if your mail host has a spam filter? Check if it had landed in your spam folders. It works for most people, your mail server must've rejected the mail somehow... hmmm... could you list your email address or domain here? Lets see if there's anything in common for the problem emails.

tabana, could I have more info if you received double emails or things of that sort? Thanks.

Lastly, web3 @ jdorama.com is not working at the moment. Please post updates to your problems here.

I don't have a spam filter in my Comcast address. My Yahoo address has one, but I checked that folder and the email wasn't there either.

My comcast address is [email protected] (for new account Schala)
The email I chaged my Sailor Wicca account to is [email protected]

I didn't receive an email to either address.

The reason I mentioned the DNS resolving issue as a possible problem is because that has happened to me before with a yahoo mailinglist.

I assume the forum software keeps some kind of log? It shouldn't be too hard to grep the logs for some specific e-mail problems, should it?
All assumptions here, so don't shoot me if I said something unreasonable. For me it is a minor inconvience, but I just like to see this mistery solved.

The mailserver of my ISP does not have a user controlable spam-filter. If it has a spam filter or a black/gray/white lists for certain mail servers, I can't see and control them. So no luck there. Sad

Is there a way to reactivate my current account (tiny)? The e-mailaddress it is associated with (martijnbouterse (at) freeler (dot) nl) doesn't seem to receive any mail from jdorama.com.

If that account can't be reactivated, I'll just have to make a new account I guess.

...

The problem is, most spam filters will tag the message as spam. It's just a small generic text message with a long url. 2 words: false positive. If your ISP tag it as spam and deletes it, there's nothing you can do about it, except contact them. Sad

minna.. my friend had tried both method but still failed. this is her reply:

after keying nslookup www.jdorama.com,

Quote:
in the pop up, under server, this was displayed:
server: menu
instead of server: ns1.yourisp.com

and when i tried to flush, i followed the steps and it still didn't work. is there other fix for the situation?

i followed nikky's instructions and i could enter the page. but whenever i tried to enter any artistes discussion thread, it says "the board is currently unavailable. pls try again later". but i tried many times but i still can't access it.

to enter the artist discussion forum or threads, I hve to change the address manually every time, I'll get the same error message as your fren if I click on the thread directly, so this is wat i did

to enter any forums on this site, i'll hve to change the original address of http://jdorama.com/viewforum.zz.htm to http://jdorama.com/viewform.php?f=zz

for example, to access the artist discussion forum, the original address is this -> http://jdorama.com/viewforum.3.htm, i'll hve to change it to
http://jdorama.com/viewforum.php?f=3

to enter the individual artist discussion thread,
the original link location is http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.XXX.htm, i'll hve to change it to http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.php?t=XXX, if she wan to access certain page of the thread, the original link location shd look like this -> http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.XXX.yyy.htm, I'll hve to change it to this -> http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.php?t=XXX&start=yyy

For example,
http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.4745.2920.htm, will become
http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.php?t=4745&start=2920
