People said that the Japanese craze had faded but I feel it is because the media choose to show lesser Japanese stuff on the TV. I believe there is still big interest in JPOP in Singapore. Drama wise, Korean dramas is making the wave now. Music wise, I guess Taiwan music is more attractive to youngster these days . I always prefer anything JPOP even before the Japanese craze around 2000. I still remember that my mom bought Japanese drama sets which easily cost around S$70-S$80. And Mediacorp show Japanese show on Prime 12 or Premiere 12. Who knows, maybe the Japanese craza will swept through Singapore again in the next few years .
i agree with you TOTALLY. mediacorp HARDLY show any japanese dramas.. it has been such a long long long time since they last show any japanese drama.. the main focus is on korea and taiwan.i wonder how i must till the japan craze is back again.. its so vexing when magazines hardly have any news on japanese stars. _________________

I personally dun care whether the Japanese craze will ever return as long I personally still enjoy JPOP. But JPOP is still very famous in Taiwan and Hong Kong. I also dun care what mediacorp show as the net is the most direct way to be in touch with JPOP. Regarding dramas, I never really watch any Korea or Taiwan dramas but from what I see on TV, Korea dramas are more on romance and sad story. But I would not actually comment on Korea drama cause I never finish one show. However, Taiwan drama is the one that I really don't understand what the appeal is about. Their actors' are so stiff and unnatural and the way they try to copy the Japanese drama style and not doing a good job disgust me. I guess their drama is more about who the actors and actresses are rather than good story and good production. Well, if the Japanese wave did really return, I think it will not be due to SMAP cause I have to admit that SMAP has pass their prime(don't hate me). It will be the next wave of Johnny idols that will make the impact. However, SMAP will always be the most successful and famous group Johnnys had ever produced. SMAP is still very famous in Japan looking at how they can easily fill those stadiums for their concerts and Takuya recent 30% viewership for the HERO special. NEWS is the particular new group I have interest with but their suspension and scandal, it is not helping them to become the next SMAP.

Yes, I agreed...I like to watch Japan dramas and listening to Japanese songs even its not so 'in' now compared to last time. I can't reali stand Korean dramas...cos they are always so slow in pace (sorry for saying this if I offend any Korean dramas fans here)...I just can't finish the whole drama after watching 1-2 episodes.. _________________

Has anybode here got Nihon Chinbotsu Photo Book? What is it like? I've been waiting for hmv to sell this book, but apparently they don't have it until now
I have the navigate DVD. Can see some of the movie trailers. The disasters are really terrifying. I had goosebumps when I watched it. No wonder it cost a lot of money to make the movie. The visual effects are superb! _________________
