thank u, great news!

my recommendations

i uploaded this for another forum, but i wanted to share those here, these are my favourites! (NOT COUNT ON KOKIA, which is THE favourite ^^)

all megaupload, except for some *

#1 Siam Shade: Life
This song is not really rockish, but quite calm within the siam shade rank. At the end of the sonh, there is a very good change. I love it.

#2 Nanase Aikawa: Ai no uta
I wonder if Nanase will ever release an album so good as 7SEVEN.

#3 Utada Hikaru: Sakura Drops
I could have chosen many form this singer, and although this is old, I still enjoy it.

#4 Aiko: Chou no Hane Kazari
It makes me move, despite I'm alone in parking, while other people just stares at me~~ haha

#5 Aiko: Boyfriend
This is quite old, but quite new to me, it caught me from the first time.

#6 KOKIA: Daijina mono wa Mabuta no Ura *Rapidshare

#7 KOKIA: CHOUWA - oto ~with reflection~

#8 KOKIA: I Believe ~umi no soko kara~

I have many KOKIA favs but I think these are the bigest PEARLS ^^

#9 L'arc en ciel: Hitomi no juunin
So beautiful ballad!

#10 Miyavi - world loves you
This is the other song that makes me move in the parking LOL

#11 Gackt - Kimi ni Aitakute
OMG, this is gonna be a little more long list ^^uuu
What can i say from this song, it caught me from the first time, his voice is sooo near to me, it's like i feel him like i had never done before, it's a special song to me.

#12 Gackt - OASIS

#13 Gackt - emu for my dear
Mars delightful album... he's gone forever ><

#14 Miyavi - Kimi ni Funky Monky vibration
This is quite new, but ohhh, so good!

#15 Koda Kumi: rock your body
I like songs from koda past albums that were not so famous as the singles...

#16 Koda Kumi: heat feat. MEGARYU

#17 LISA & Koda Kumi & Heartsdales: SWITCH
This song could not be missing here... i think it's one of the most important in this list.

#18 Jun Shibata - kanawanai
This is a song that you would play when you have sophisticated visitors Wink

#19 Aucifer - kaikan phrase OST
this is one of the vert first songs i listened in japanese...

#20 Aucifer - kaikan phare OST
the same

#21 CHAKA - Blue as the Sky (CCS OST)
This is really old favourite too ^^

I think so. Singing voices are not great, true, but the music is very catchy and the fun attitude they have is A+. Would watch again!

A bunch of their PVs and music have been posted to Jpopsuki, but dunno if still seeded. Lots of fun to watch their silly little dances (especially Strawberry Chips), but also Electric Sensei, Tandemu, Giri Giri Surf Rider, etc.

Definitely. Halcali's music is very catchy and I can listen to both of their albums without skipping a single track. And yeah, their dancing skills are surprisingly very good. I agree with you when you say especially "Strawberry Chips". hehe I'm not really digging their new stuff though, like "Twinkle Star" and "Tips Tap Tips". They need to go back to the stuff that they did on their albums.

Oh, and here's a good blog to keep up to date with Halcali news. Mr Green

I have Onkgaku no Susume. I like it, it's good.

BTW, they transferred to Epic Records and the last 2 you named are the only 2 released with Epic. Not a good sign. Puppy Dog Eyes

Yeah... I just hope they're still involved with OTF. But anyway, I have Halcali Bacon if you (or anyone) want it. I also recently got their remix cd the last time I was in Japantown, heh heh.

I, for one, like Tip Tap Tips and Twinkle Star, so I don't see any bad signs here. And Maybe I'm imagining it, or maybe their producers are throwing more DSP on the vocal tracks, but it sounds to me like their voices are getting better as they mature.

Anyhows, I think it will be fun to watch them evolve.

Can someone recommend me some jpop songs that have a distinct Asian melody or feel to it (e.g. "Kaze" - Ueto Aya, "Sakuramankai" - Morning Musume)? None of that hiphop/RnB influence which I despise...

Thank you soo much!!
try namie amuro's 'queen of hip-pop' album, specially look for m-flo, michico (anything by giant swing productions) and some daisuke imai, ryohei, crystal kay, nao'myt produced songs

lol by the looks of my avatar and sig, there's no doubt that i'm going to recommend "AAA," or Attack All Around. they're a non-genre group from Avex that had their first debut in September 2005, and the group consists of 5 guys and 3 girls. for most songs, two of the guys always lead with one of the girls; there's a designated rapper, and the rest either sings back-up or harmonizes (with other songs in exception where they lead). they all dance, and i'll be dead honest, their dance routines are amazing. scroll down to see the recommended lives. =]

discography info

1st single - Blood on Fire: eurobeat
2nd single - Friday Party: funky
3rd single - Kirei na Sora: R&B/hiphop + jazzy
4th single - Dragon Fire: jazzy + can't really explain >< (you'll probably crack up watching the full PV.. the story is really wacky lol.)
5th single - Hallelujah: i don't know how to explain this..a lighter kind of eurobeat? if you've watched gachi baka, then you know this song.
6th single - Shalala Kibou no Uta: R&B. it's also a cover song.
7th single - Hurricane Riri, Boston Mari: light rock/alternative
8th single (2 sides) - a. Soul Edge Boy: rock/alternative
b. Kimono Jet Girl: hyper? lol it's the other theme song for ragnorak, that's why..
9th single - Let it Beat: Eurobeat + techno perhaps

recommended MP3s

below are some songs i've uploaded on megaupload. if you have problems with mgup, i'm willing to re-upload them on another server. also don't forget about youtube and dailymotion! search for "aaa live" or "aaa attack all around" before you get disappointed..i hope you won't lol.

Kirei na Sora (live from -1st Attack Round 2-):

Shalala Kibou no Uta:

recommended lives

there are better versions out there, but the vids below are all coming from youtube because i'm getting a bit lazy.. as for PVs, please request or self-find them on youtube! i recommend Hurricane Riri Boston Mari, Kirei na Sora and Shalala Kibou no Uta.

Hallelujah (full version):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RDdJyfrGbY

Bokura no Te (full version - their only song without a dance):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWZumRZpQ7w

Hurricane Riri, Boston Mari (this will make you happy lol):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_gjmUnjMX0

Crazy Gonna Crazy (full version):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV3apl4gzxI

you can find clear versions of some of their lives on a French fansite called "Come with me!!!" (http://aaaround.free.fr/specialattack.htm) click on "Telecharger" below the screencaps to download. you can also get live/mp3/PV downloads and pretty much all the info you can get from AAA's forum called "ATTACK'd ALL AROUND." btw, i'm known as "Ines-chan" on there. =]

sorry about the lengthy post. @_@
