They did a couple of years ago when I was there and it was wild and fun. I missed last year's event , so I don't know if they hoisted the shrine or not... I'm not sure if I'm going to catch the parade this year...

Oh, the Mikoshi. I should really post that picture I took at this year's festival. And one day, I will be one of those carrying it. You'll see.

I helped carry that thing two years ago. My shoulder was pretty sore afterwards but they give you a lot of free sake. Basically, you find to find where its parked a few hours before the parade begins. It's going to be parked all day outside somewhere near the start of the parade route. You just have to sign a waiver and they will let you carry it. _________________
