It appears that a number of people are abusing the signature feature in the J-Dorama forum by using images that are dimensionally too large. These large images clutter up the forum pages and makes them near-unreadable for members.
As of today (August 23, 2006), all signature images are restricted to a maximum dimensional size of 500(w)x150(h) pixels.
Please make the necessary changes to your signature images as soon as possible or they will be removed.

Shunji only dated Mariko to look cool. In fact there is no hint that Shunji likes girls - he sympathizes with Nobuko and became friends with her, but did not seems to take the romantic step forward. I wonder if there is an underlying hint of homosexuality in the whole thing...

that's what I actually thougth.. I read somewhere about the original book that it kinda was about homosexuality or something (like instead of Nobuta being a girl, it was actually a boy) (or I dreamed that )[/b]

Now that you mention it, that sorta makes sense. I mean, in the end, it was Akira and Shuji who ended up together. Nobuko considered the two as "one" and therefore couldn't stand to see them apart, hence telling Akira to go after Shuji... which he unquestioninly did.
And of course, the last scene with them playing around in the water... icing on the cake. _________________
A guy gets close to male friend doesn't mean there's homosexuality . Some people really care about their friends more than anything else. That's why I love Nobuta wo Produce . It's all about friendship and joyful youth, not about some crappy high school romance.
I love all of them, Shuji, Akira, Nobuta but over all, I love Shuji the most because maybe he's more real to me. He's un doubtful high school boy whom grew up to be more mature along with his 2 truely friends.

No one is questioning friendship vs. homosexuality. I think people were just comparing to the mango

I loved all of them as well, but I don't think I'd be able to pinpoint a fav. I definitely think Shuji was the strongest in terms of character development and depth. He was so real and you could totally relate to him. Each character had their own charm, thus making this show is unique! _________________

hehe, mango? then I'm lost .My bad !
I think Nobuta is the strongest, that's why Akira said she's ok alone. She doesn't need Akira or Shuji being by her side, but Shuji does need Akira.
Akira is the nicest. Who couldn't get mad at your friend if that friend keep a secret from you ? Akira didn't get mad but hide his feeling (that picture, you know)
Shuji is the one that is doubtful, weak ,etc... that's why he's more real than the other two. That's why most people can relate to him because we all once was a high school student whom questioned about our life, our future.

i think this drama talks a lot about people's biggest fear, like shuji who afraid of not being popular anymore, nobuta who afraid of rejection. but for akira i didn't really find what his fear was.
in the end everybody find the way out for their own fear (i think..)
overall, this drama is amusing konnnn.............

akira = his fear might be... seeing his friends(shuji/nobuta) hurt? _________________
