*sigh... I swear to god... If people're gonna come to a career fair looking for jobs, learn how to talk and sell yourself. Complete furstration when some soon to be college grad just looks at you, same nothing, and gives you his/her resume. I don't mind pulling teeth, but it gets old fast.
Career fairs're great, because right off the bat, you've already made face to face contact with the company and it gets your resume into their hands, but that's only part of what needs to be done. ARG!!! YOU HAVE TO SELL YOURSELF. Look cheerful, excited, high energy. Keep the conversation going. If you don't understand what the recruiter is saying, that's fine, ask him/her questions. If the recruiter sees that you're actively listening and asking questions, you'll make that much more positive impression.
Also, make sure your resume looks good. Now I don't mean, just content, what I almost mean is layout. GET RID OF WHITESPACE. It makes your resume look small and boring, and I will toss it into the trash. And yes... if you're a recent grad, I know you don't have much experience, but you know what.. add in some class projects you've done. It HELPS. Sure I know it's academics, but now you've listed a psuedo work experience that recruiters can ask you about, and let you promote yourself further.
ARG!!!... damn anti-social CS major twits. It's as if they don't even want a job. _________________

The woman that had her BMW towed awhile back for parking in handicapped is REALLY bummed now. Her boss is leaving, 3 years of butt kissing right down the drain

I despise brown-nosers, and I think this is why the VPs dislike me so much. I refuse to put on a face that isn't mind and pretend things I don't naturally feel.
Today I got in trouble because I told my concerned I.B. class that if they felt they were being pressured, they should stand up for themselves and make their own decisions. Apparently this was the wrong thing to say, because god forbid the business loses yet another customer. I'm sorry, I'm more concerned about the actual student as opposed to how much the student is worth. _________________

I had a manager tell me once, "You know what you're biggest problem is, Mark?" "No, what's that" He said, "When somebody asks you a direct question, you give them a direct answer and if they don't like the answer that's not your problem." I felt sooo good

I DO! I DO! I also had a manager tell me once, "Mark, you would a lot better employee if you knew when to shut up" I thought about having that hung over my cubicle.
