There aren't that many... Most of the people here aren't into historical dramas... They only like modern love story crap.

No more news about Ebizo ?

Well, I'm a bit late, but here we go: in Japan, the movie "Deguchi No Nai Umi", in which Ebizo plays the lead role, is now on the theaters. And I have good news for you: next march, Ebizo and his father Danjuro will be performing two classics plays of Kabuki on Opera Garnier in Paris.

Ah, welcome maman !!!! Hope you'll enjoy your stay here !!!!!

I think it's okay, unless you try to profit from them somehow... Personal use should be okay.

Talking about historical dramas, have any of you guys watched the other historical dramas such as "shinsengumi" and "yoshitsune"? How are they compared to "musashi"?

I couldn't sit through Shinsengumi: I found it uninteresting and geared toward the fangirls... I felt that way about Yoshitsune as well: the lead actor was in over his head in the lead role. Shake Head

Though Musashi was drawn out in some parts, it's the best NHK Taiga drama I've seen. Smile

It's NHK's big, lavishly produced historical dramas... They usually last for about a year... Musashi was 49 episodes long. Sweat

It's a true test of how long you can continuously watch a single series without losing it... Sweat

49 episodes is too long for you? interesting! We are watching many TVseries with 100 - 200 episodes... I have an other favorite, latino-american tvdrama, with 80 episodes, and I think is too short... I think MUSASHI is too short too !!! When we can't watching the episode directly, we use to register it, and see it later . For me MUSASHI is too short !! Shocked

I'd like to see an other good historical drama, where can-I find it? can somebody recommand me some to download? Please!

I have a traduction problem, with the episode 3 : When Takuan says to Takezo ,,Know your weakness!''we must understand ,,Know the fact that you're still weak'' or ,, Know your weak points '' ? What you think about?

That point I can't make out myself. Perhaps because I read the novel first then watched the series. There are things in the series that are still unclear. Perhaps they changed here and there and also it's too short like you said 49 episodes is waaaay too short when it comes to telling the life of this legendary samurai. The novel of over 900 pages only accounts his journey till the duel with Sasaki.

This thread is still alive maman Victory! Peace!

Me too I read the novel first ten years ago, and I read it again, to better understanding of the series, but don't help me much... the two are so different...
I'm working to do the romanian subtitles - that's why I need some help...

And yes, I see now that this thread is still alive, and I'm happy for it. Applaud Applaud

The writers didn't think so, since they had to pad the story with all this fictional intrigue involving the Tokugawa and Yagyu clans. Sweat

I would've been happy if they had followed the book more closely.

I couldn't agree more.

I am not saying that the adaptation is outrageous but it's not succesful either. I mean for those who have read Musashi would miss many things in this adaptation. Musashi here is different from the one depicted in the book.
