i've been unsuccessful in downloading but it's playing and i must say IT'S A BEAUTIFUL MV. ok, i'm gushing. but it's beautiful, the way the two TEGO AND MASSU were acting out their roles, the shots, the song, etc. were simply beautiful and deep.
some others may prefer the sexiness of the guys, but i thought this was a simple, straigthforward, beautiful song with meaning.

ayoyo .... no need to be sooooo patient. go to this thing called dailymotion (it's kind of like youtube , but i haven't figured out how to download it properly). You register yourself, then you get the video.
it's pretty much like youtube, y'know : the fact that the video got stuck a few times. after that i started clicking here, there, everywhere, and suddenly, it was unstuck.
oh yeah, it's not really got much of a scenery, it's just these boys at the train station (they were street performers), and they got home - a teeny place, and they find this box, see, that Tego's mum had sent them, and they have dinner while he reads his mum's letter and poor Massu had not got a package from his mom. which was sad. i felt sorry for Massu. then they got round to composing some songs. it's really stupid of me to feel this way, but it was really .... well, it had depth.
funny though, i thought (from what I had read somewhere) that massu needed a translator in Sweden : maybe it was for the Swedish language or German or something. coz his pronunciation in MISO SOUP was pretty cool, in fact, i understood him somewhat better then i understood Tego (no offence, i thought both were very, very, very good).
well, goes to show that both of them are really cool.....oh yeah, MASSU sure looks young, doesn't he? he looks almost like Tego's age, considering.
I want the whole CD if possible. maybe dailymotion will have it all online soon. _________________

actually massu's ok. so is yamapi. but dunno about them being hunky. sometimes, i guess being un-hunky could be sexy too.... huh?
and yeah, the MISO SOUP video does tend to stick... were they performing on the streets? were they escorted by a whole crowd and crew from Japan? must be costly. JE-sponsored the trip, i suppose. how much coverage did they get?
hey you know what, MONTA : remember the time i asked why on earth did they have to go to Sweden to launch their CD, actually, it's a brilliant marketing strategy.
i mean : look at it this way :
a) who doesn't know Japan? everyone does. Europeans may also look towards Japan for their products, including electronic and electrical goods. now, take the concept a bit further, Japan is also a fairly modern country with lots of people being more 'mentally exposed' compared to maybe the tighter Malaysia.
so if you have a lot more people looking at entertainment, and people growing tired of the normal Caucasion people....they can always look for the Asian entertainers, and what better niche market for Japan!
b) Sweden is also known for its 'freedom' : quite a liberalised country - that. so there may be more openings - in various components of the 'entertainment' business.
maybe hantuwriter would be a better person to advise on this : but at a glance, I don't foresee the same opening available for TEGOMASS or NEWS if the launch were held in the UK, for example. They might make ripple, of course, but not that great a tidal wave, since London itself is brimming with lots of singers and bands.
c) look at the Japanese people located all over the globe. they are also a ready audience for the Japanese entertainment. besides, a lot of Asians living in Europe may also go for the Asian look that TEGOMASS has.
d) by going to sweden, TEGOMASS are actually laying the foundation for NEWS to cross over into Europe in the future.
I MAY BE WAAAAY OFF, hope someone will comment.
anyways, CONGRATULATIONS TO TEGO AND MASSU : GOOD JOB. VERY BRAVE of them both!
Hey liza! (is that your real name? lizakajang is long.. hehe)
according to Massu, the reason why they chose sweden was because many of the songs of NEWS were written by swedish composers and since there was a song written exclusively for them.. they decided to come over to sweden!
*darn it why can't SEA composers write songs for them too XD*

Yayy i finally managed to watch it!
This PV made me feel warm inside.. It's just so sweet and innocent. A good choice of group this song is given to since it fits the image of massu and tego perfectly. (can you imagine ryo and uchi singing this omg XD )
I interprete the storyline as this:
Massu and tego are street performers to earn extra income (probably for their studies abroad) and tegoshi's mum sent over a box filled with cups of miso soup and also a letter attached. The two guys go home late and tired one night and they spotted the box on the floor. Tegoshi got a little nostalgic reading the letter and seeing the cups of miso soup sent over by his mum and even got a bit moody when Massu stole a peek at his letter (whoaa.. tegoshi was mean here!*for once* he pushed Massu away) Poor Massu got nothing from his parents but tegoshi decided to share with him his cups of miso soup in the end...
The song that Tegomass performed on the streets was Miso soup of course..
but.. they don't seem to be earning much from their singing!! Look at the pathetic number of coins on the ground
Tegomass stop being street performers and come back as NEWS!!
edit: okay apparently the story is supposed to show that in the end, with the love and motivation they get from mum.. tegomass becomes popular musicians!
I'm not sure anyone else has ripped it, so for the time being, Dailymotion is it if you want to watch the Miso Soup MV. Eventually, I _will_ release an avi file, but not until I've done some tweaking. Also, I'd rather it didn't go up on YouTube just yet, because not only do I dislike that company, I also don't like the crappy sound/video quality (and I'm sure the people behind the song and video wouldn't either).
That's why the PV might 'get stuck'. It's much higher quality than YouTube. Just wait for it to load. DM has extremely fast servers, so the problem is most likely on your end.
So, on both accounts, patience.
Btw, someone mentioned that Massu needed an interpreter? Yes, he _sounds_ somewhat better in the song, but I think that's mostly because he imitates well. Tegoshi is a lot better at actually communicating in English. (From what I've heard. I only talked to Tegoshi, not Massu.)

hey! thanks for posting both the videos and subbing the interview one haha.. the problem may be because the videos are too popular at the moment
Hmm.. actually i can understand tegoshi's english much better than massu's and yupp can tell from the interview that he kinds of understands what the hosts were saying whereas Massu looked lost XD
Ohwells.. tegoshi's the one who took english in university ne?
Ohh goddd...-dies.- Hey everyone. T_T I've been gone for AGES. I've been dying from the plague for like two-three weeks! Puking my eyes out, runny nose, all around death and horrid deception, goodness I seriously wanted to like crawl in a hole and die. I couldn't leave the bed for like ages! It hurted, my muscles were like dead. XD; Ano...Three weeks in bed, all I did was listen to JE boys, turn the comp to face my bed so I could watch Pv's but I couldn't type T_T Or go on any sites 'cos it took way too much effort. XD anywaise, I'm back now. But I've still got the plague. D:
I probably missed a lot, ne? I have yet to hear Miso Soup D: or see the video...X_x; Soooo anyone want to save me the 1098932 pages I missed and just lemme know whats up? XD;;; <3

HEY, didn't know that! most songs by swedish composers! welllll.....shows that I still have much to learn! Sheessh.....i never imagined swedish composers ....well, hang on....let's listen...that faint techno sound in Cherish ....was that by the Swedes as well? I imagine every song is written by Shige....hee hee hee, i am hopeless!
anyways, it's pretty cool that the swedes are crossing over into Japan. Which technically proves that this global market thing is more and more at our doorsteps, people!
Jess,....don't know about the SEA composer, but who's gonna be the first FAN to write a song for them? Hey, that's it.....let's do a song for them! Errr.....does anyone know to play music in the first place?
p/s : yeah, my name is liza, but the real name is long too. Kajang is a place where my dad still lives....famous for its satay in Malaysia. It used to be such a small "cowboy" town when we first moved in...and suddenly now it's got so many cars and people from all over the place. It's got several universities nearby, and some old schools, including Convent Kajang where I used to study : only that it's been integrated into the mainstream Ministry of Education. _________________

Well, well.....good for TEGO...WONDERFUL! Congratulations - i hope to hear more from him in the future.
as for Massu, although he did look a little lost there, i still think that he had successfully carried off the 'imitation' part very well.... For someone who has minimal command of a language, yet is able to reach THAT kind of standard on a CD, pretty good, if i may say so myself. Congratulations!
Cant do any downloads now. Have no money and broken portable HD.
I'm using the internet on campus... the comps are not made for entertainment so it doesn't have a VGA, downloads and youtubes are so impossible. i'll be patient. All it has us borland delphi, turbo pascal, and other shitty crap _________________

Ehh, maybe SEA composers tend to concentrate on -how hould i say it- not these type of singers nor songs. Erwin Gutawa was great but the tend to go for 'divas' like siti nurhaliza _________________

ehhh... but somehow youtube is very common yet so simple. nearly everyone uses youtube, meaning that i think it will also make tegomass popular... somehow... _________________

my goodness! what happened to you? hope you are feeling better! JE boys were with you throughout? Hmmmm......now that's what I call potent medicine!
I haven't been following up on every single thing, but i think the others may be able to fill you in. We've been talking about TEGOMASS' trip to sweden lately, and the MISO Soup launch. and someone so very kind has uploaded the mv.....beautiful! Has everyone seen it?
by the way, some pages back someone was saying that the arena rumoured to be for NEWS' comeback in 2007 wasn't really for them.....so that caused a bit of a stir....although we're still keeping our fingers crossed they'll come back...
Ok, i'm probably gonna get hit here, for asking, but can anyone help upload the Yume Monogatari song by Shigeaki & Koyama at the S club. I also wanted to know if anyone would be so kind as to help upload that Yume no Kazu Dake song as well......that's the most beautiful song ever!

yeah, but monty, you have to agree youtube's quality against dailymotion or even veoh ....well, kind of 'not quite there'.
NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG. i still love youtube, it's got a whole lot of things, a whole lot of things ; REALLY. and they have brought NEWS to me : i never watched NEWS before.
I'm not turning my back on youtube. it's great. but having said that, i wish it'd be easier to download stuff....it's not meant for downloading, anyways, i guess. (well, you all know how backward i am about these things.....).
Montz, you got the two songs i wanted to download? Be a darling and upload it for me if you have it! arigatou. _________________
