when i say crappy i mean Kurosagi and Teppan Shoujo Akane. I liked her in Kurosagi but the drama was very repetitive and bored the hell out of me.
NWP and her episode of Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi where great
Kurosagi was a flop. But Maki-chan salvaged it to be watchable.

This is welcome news for Maki fans....there will a sequel to Always San-chome with the original cast returning

"Always" sequel and Takashi Miike's Sukiyaki Western
Ryuganji just reports that Takashi Yamazaki's nostalgic hit and 2006 Japan Academy sweep "Always - Sunset on Third Street" is coming back with the same cast members and same directors next year. Main cast include Hidetaka Yoshioka, Koyuki, Shinichiro Tsutsumi, Hiroko Yakushimaru, Maki Horikita and others.

Nice info, thanks.
Just hope it'll be good and not just an attempt to make more money. If the cast is the same, it has better chances of being good.
yeah i'm encouraged that they decided to keep the cast intact....given the time frame of the movie, post-war Japan....the film has a unique opportunity to address certain issues or themes that are less likely in cinema addressing contemporary times.
