I know it must have taken a while to shoot those scenes. In one of the specials on the drama, they said that although the "computer friends" scences were quite short, they took a veryyy long time to shoot!

Yup! They would do about 40 hours for shooting and keep only 7 minutes of it! I think it's really hard to act to a narration without visually saying anything. The online pals did a great job!

Wow! Really? 40 hours of shooting and they only kept 7 minutes! That's crazy! Yes, the online pals really did a great job!

I am currently watching it...seems very interesing, also because it's based on a true story...
But Densha...I don't know, I don't think he is cute or something like that...is he famous in Japan?...I mean..he isn't really handsome, ne?

I don't think he is supposed to be handsome. He's supposed to be an otoku. Not that they aren't cute or anything...but it adds more to the story. Hermes is supposed to be super hot and he's supposed to be an otoku.

In the movie version, Densha is played by Takayuki Yamada. Now he's hot. It isn't the same. You know what I mean?

That's why I let the movie alone. Notwithstanding my personal dislike of Yamada, he really wasn't the right choice for this role. On the other hand I like Nakatani Miki but she's also a mis-cast - she looked way too old for Hermes.

BTW it's 'otaku', no 'otoku'.

First off, thx so much for the spelling! I'm sorry. OTAKU! Got it! Don't know how I let that slip all those times! Nut

I have to agree with you! Nakatani Miki looked way to old for the role! I dunno I guess I watched the drama first, so I didn't like the movie all that much. Everything seemed so rushed in the movie.

How can u not be moved after watching Densha.....? I mean the fact that it is based on a true story is sweet and romantic. <sighs> waiting for my otaku...... (except he shouldn't be that much of a cry baby....) hehe

Actually all we know is that someone posted messages in a forum about an encounter with a beautiful lady in the train. There was never any solid proof that this story was true.

It's enjoyable as it is, truth or fabrication.

Finished now^^....It wasn't such a great drama I think, but it also wasn't bad. But I wouldn't watch it again, somehow Densha cried all the time Bonk it was kinda annoying.
But the actor was great, I mean he did a great job in acting "Densha"...
