A few tracks have not been used in the drama, such as track 1. It is possible that Hattori composed the pieces, but some of them were later replaced by the classical pieces used in the drama. Another possibility is that the anime will use music from this OST too.
I much prefer the classical pieces. I saw a "NC novel from the TV drama" at Yesasia and am tempted to get it just because of the cover pic ('cause I sure can't read it.) Since you seem to collect lots of NC stuff, I wonder if you heard about what will be in this novel???

Thank you for the head-ups, I've placed an order with Amazon for this. I'm also not going to be able to read it but it's good to have around. From the short passage (the scene just before Chiaki and Nodame played the Mozart sonata for 2 pianos) on the Amazon website it is more or less a transcript of the drama.

I've just received my order of the "Nodame Cantabile Best 100" CD set. However due to the current problems with internet access from Asia I'll wait awhile before upload the MP3 files to my archive.

thtl, please do tell if the content of the NC best 100 cd is good 'cause I'm considering getting it together with the novel from drama thing. Thanks.
First off, musical pieces included in the Best 100 were all mentioned in the manga. Some of them appeared in the drama as well. However some pieces of music used in the drama but did not feature in the manga, such as Meacham's "American Patrol", were not included. This time round the complete piece, not just excerpts, were included. For instance we only got to hear bits of Beethoven's Symphony #7's 1st and 4th movement, but the complete symphony was included in the CD set.
Having said that my one disappointment is that none of the pieces is performed by the Nodame Orchestra. The quality of the performances is high, as top artists such as Glenn Gould, Leonard Bernstein, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra were featured. Nonetheless it's a little disappointing because I didn't just purchase the CD set for the music alone, but also for it's association with "Nodame Cantabile".
I did not manage to get limited edition, just the run-of-the-mill version which included a very informative booklet (in Japanese). The limited edition costs 3 times the amount and I have no idea if it is worth this price difference.
Whether it is worth your effort/money is up to you to judge. I have also ordered the novel which will be delivered with the "Orchestra de Nodame Story" CD set when it is released in early Feb.

uhm, no thanks... i mean.. like smapXsmap... is there any other promotional video? or the interview of the cast, behind the screen etc
There is episode 0, aired on the same day a couple of hours before the first episode, which was exactly what you asked for.
There is also an episode of "Waratte Iitomo", a competition type TV game show it which teams from several drama compete against each other for a prize. This particular episode, the autumn special, featured teams from "Nodame Cantabile", "Boku no Aruku Michi", "Dr. Koto 2006", and a couple others.
Both of the above are available from D-Addicts, but neither are subbed. Note that episode 0 is bundled in the torrent for episode 1.

heu2.... i c... thanks for the infos... i wish that those video are subbed immedietly hehehe
In addition to the SP or Ep 0, Waratte Iitomo (Real format), SmapxSmap as mentioned by thtl, there's another little segment of Iitomo (guessing word game) from this very thread. From Youtube, you can find a couple of PR segments & behind the scenes (toward the end of the drama). These don't stay up there long 'cause Youtube would delete them per Fuji TV's request as heard a while back. I can only wait till they release the boxset to see if they'll include more behind the scenes and stuff.

That's right, the part where Ms. Ueno messed up by turning round and looked at the answer. Thanks for reminding me.
I'm also waiting eagerly for Fuji TV to release the DVD box-set.
Thank you thtl for sharing the 100 Best Nodame collection. Not a classical listener but because of Nodame, I'm starting to listen to it. I've found these 2 files in another forum .
