Actually, i've heard that. I would definitely try it out if I was there...
you'd have to..unless you want to blow all your spending money on cab rides. cabs are for emergencies or one way trips like getting home after the subways have stopped running.
happened to my friend and i once...we went out drinking, got wasted and then he insisted on taking the train home...well the train stopped running a few stops before our destination. so we had to exit the subway station and hail a cab.

Ouch. Are the subways safe late at night?
i never felt unsafe, not even once. i used to live in new york so i know the feeling of being on the train and not feeling safe.
have you ever seen pictures of the myriad number of drunkards who crash out in the subway or in the station...everybody just walks past them like they're dead paying them no mind.
Hiya...genki? I'm just dropping in for a short visit. It's late here so I won't be on too long.
I'm currently looking at tours traveling to Japan because I really want to go but Japan tours are very rare and expensive here. The only one I saw cost £2500 for 2 weeks and was a Flower Tour to Kyoto. Flowers? Not really my kind of tour...

Kubi-kitta...? Seriously, if you fall asleep on a train in Scotland, you'll wake up with everything stolen off of you - clothes included.
we were the the last two ppl in that train car before the train stopped at Hiro-o in Tokyo and we were forced to get off and take a cab back to the hotel.

i've never been to kyoto but if you spend your whole time there i think you'll get bored because it's more traditional culture without any of the fast paced energy of Tokyo or Osaka, even.

yeah, that happened to me and my friend too.....we were one stop short, and since it was just after 12am, we had to take a cab back to the hotel in Shinagawa, and it was 1100 yen for a few blocks to the hotel.

yeah? geez about a 11 dollars for a few blocks. it's one of those things if you know you're way around and we're that close you could walk but you don't want to go wandering around lost in the middle of the evening especially when you're tired.

i've been a few times and even managed to go during the cherry blossom season. nijo jo and its nightingale floor is amazing especially when 100s of people are walking on it at the same time!
i recognised the station immediately in 'lost in translation' when charlotte went for a trip. _________________
