Lucus just realised that if he waits too much longer then HDDVD will arrive and he'll miss the chance to sell it to us twice (or 4 times with super special editions)
At CES, two companies, Toshiba and Blu-Ray demonstrated their prototype HD-DVD players...
Well, to be quite honest with all members of planet Earth, I must confess:
1) I don't own ANY version of the trilogy.
2) I've NEVER SEEN Episode 1 or 2.
3) I own both Episode 1 and 2, but they're still shrinkwrapped.
4) Along with Eps 1 and 2, I've also never seen:
- Jurassic Park (any of them)
- ET (it's actually the ONLY movie I haven't seen of Drew Barrymore's)
- Any of the Lord of the Rings movies (but I've read the books)
- Any of the Star Trek movies (and have only sat through about four episodes of the original TV series, and I can do that finger-saluting thingie the guy with the pointy ears is famous for)
IN EXCHANGE for my total lack of geekish cinema experiences, I have seen:
- All the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes movies
- All of Cheech & Chong's movies (and actually can resite word-for-word the entire Up in Smoke movie)
- Most of Andrew McCarthy's movies (and usually quote lines from Weekend at Bernie's)
- I own more Suzuki Fumika videos than all my sci-fi videos COMBINED.

Same for me regarding Jurassic Park, ET, and LOTR... And I've ONLY seen stuff from the original Star Trek TV series and the movies starring the original cast... Oh, and the Vulcan is Spock.

I haven't seen it in the theaters so I'm waiting for the DVD!
I heard it was good.
Same here! It sounds excellent.....plus I can't turn down Tom Cruise. I wonder if he speaks any Japanese in it?? If so, I wouldn't have really high expectations, but I would hope to hear better Japanese than Lucy Liu in Kill Bill. Ok, do I need to dodge flames for that one????

Nah. I haven't seen Kill Bill but I heard that Lucy's Japanese was Horrible. I just recently watched a comedy show from Japan where the actors/actresses reenacted scenes from Kill Bill imitating the horrible Japanese spoken by Lucy Liu. Ha! Japanese trying to speak "horribly pronounced Japanese by non Japanese" Pretty funny stuff! Had me rolling!

I was about to vomit. She butchered U{. ŒIII Although I know I have an accent and can only be so much of a critic, it sounds like she didn't even try. I didn't see all of the movie but I saw more than half. However Uma Thurman's u肪Ƃvwas surprisingly pretty good! I don't know if she said any more Japanese in the movie, but her pronunciation was pretty good If they were gonna have Lucy speak so much like SHE LIVED THERE (and was a, ahem, BOSS...BUWAHAHAHAHA!! Riiiiight.), they should have gotten a language coach for her!!!!!
I'm *SO* looking forward to hearing Tom's Japanese. From what I hear, he was really into learning some of the Japanese culture. He was sending his friends stuff about Bushido
