well that's true and i actually didn't get some parts .
But once you get to the middle, you'd understand the past episodes so don't worry Keps. and don't forget the SP is episode 0
but overall, i love it. it's got one of the best endings ever. somehow until now i can't forget it.
but Iryu is a must watch !
Hmm, I'll maybe watch T & G after I finish Beautiful Life, then.
I wanna watch Iryu, promise! I just need to get hold of it!

Unfair
Anfuia na no wa dare ka? (Who is really Unfair?)
Pretty much this is the main theme during the whole drama.
The drama is really good. Smooth flowing and bunch of surprises along the ways. I didn't figure out the mystery until the VERY END!!! Looks like I'm not good as a detective.
Well....I recommend this drama to all who is looking for an interesting and good one. I liked Hero, but this one was much much better _________________
Here is my list of dramas that I absolutely loved!!!
Densha Otoko - This comedy/drama is So funny! I absolutely loved it and even could relate to a lot of it!!! Watched it 3 times already and I am trying to find new people to show it to so I can have an excuse to watch it again!
Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2- Straight one of the best comedy/dramas I have ever seen! Casting is excellent! Acting is top rate! Just love it!
Byakuyakou - Dark and deep drama at it's best! I absolutely loved this drama so much and it made me walk away thinking for days afterwards! The best hardcore drama I have ever seen!
My Boss, My Hero! - Warning! Will make you cry with laughter!!! I absolutely loved this one and Tomoyo is just TOO funny in this role!
Kimi Wa Petto - I know a lot of people aren't crazy about this but I absolutely LOVED this one! I thought the leads had great chemistry and thought it was a great story and a lot of fun! I have already turned 3 people on to this and I am seeking more!
Gokusen 1 - I had so much fun watching this! Great cast and a bit silly at times but it was just great!!! This is one that I use to get people into JDramas and it usually works!
Sekai No Chuushin De Ai Wo Sekebun - Have tissues handy for this one! The acting is superb! The story is beautiful and moving! Watching it is like an emotional rollercoaster! I was happy and sad to watch this one til the end!
A lot of the ones that people consider really great I just can not get into for the life of me like Nodame Cantible (can't force myself to finish it) and Nobuta Wo Produce (finished it and felt blah about it). But I have to agree... GTO... WORST... DRAMA... EVER... (IMHO )

Wasted my time watching that. How the heck did YamaPi turn out to be so kayu after doing such a great job in Nobuta?
How come you don't like KwP? Gimme a link to your review or sumthing.
I love Momo but after HYD2, I'm experiencing Matsujun burn out Its a mystery why I like him a lot in HYD but feel like throwing him into a longkang watching his fruity self HYD2. Still loves Momo tho'. Hopefully Bambino will be great. However the Dom like hair still bothers/ worries me.
People felt cheated watching Gokusen2 (me included). The whole series is basically a replay of the same plot from Gokusen 1 but with Akame (yes they are lovely & talented but not in Gokusen2) It pisses me off that Kame won the best supporting actor for it instead of Ninomiya (Yasashii Jikan)
My Boss My Hero is a must watch. Its VERY entertaining with wonderful cast & excellent themesong. Its about a 28yr old Yakuza going back to school as part of a deal with his father before taking over his Yakuza empire. Sorry, I'm not very good at describing things.

I started watching jdrama not a long time ago simply because I liked anime and I heard about a TV version of GTO after that I found this site and it has been one after another from the top 50, I really recommend Nobuta wo Produce, Kimi wa Petto and Hana Yori Dango as my top 3 -for now I think-.
Later on I will rethink of my options and let you know the rest but for now this ones are a must see -for my taste at least- as you might have noticed I didn't recommend any sad -and I mean real sad- dramas in my top 3... although I like them a lot very sad dramas put me down and I prefer something with comedy...
There are 2 that I think deserve special mention just because I really couldn't stop watching until it finished, one is Hotman and the other one I am watching right now Jyoou no Kyoushitsu and I totally love it! The kids did an amazing job I guess I can recommend this too!
If you know of something in this range post it here please!! Thanks

I haven't watched Jyoou no Kyoushitsu (who's the lead actors?) but I've watched Hotman. Very touching & I love the chemistry between Sorimachi and the kids (esp. the lil' girl - she's also acted as chibi Nobuta). If you are looking for stories involving kids, Engine would be a good pick. Amazing cast which includes, Toda Erika, Ueno Juri, Reiko-san, Yuto (Shuji lil bro in Nobuta- he's very cool in this) etc, etc.. lead by Takuya & Koyuki. You can't go wrong with Kimura Takuya dramas.
Another recommendation is Summer Snow. Tsuyoshi Dohmoto (really amazes me in this) acted as the quirky eldest siblings of three orphaned teenagers. Very touching with a dash of angst & lots of love. Thank god Tsuyo helps lighten the mood with his antics & that ending song kills the angsty theme of the series (not in a bad way for me. KinkiKids rules!). Oguri Shun was very convincing as the deaf gentle brother.[/url]

should i watch My Boss, My Hero?
whats it about?
You should watch it!!
Sakaki "Tornado" Makio (Nagase Tomoya) is a tough 27-year-old high school drop-out. By academic standards, he's pretty dumb. He decides to force his son to return to high school to receive his diploma. He asks an old friend who happens to be the principal (Iwaki Koichi) of a nearby school to admit Makio. If Makio doesn't graduate, the position of boss will be given to his younger brother Mikio (Kikawada Masaya).
Furthermore, he must pose as a 17-year-old during school hours and in the presence of any classmates or teachers outside of school. If his cover is blown, it would be the end of his high school career as well as his hopes to become boss. Things start out rough and tough as Makio's violent temper is tested. As the lessons and days go by he learns there is much more to school than just tests and studying. _________________

Nodame should cheer you up.
Or Swing Girls.
FInished Nodame Cantabile tuesday and watched Swing Girls last night. Both are good and light hearted.... Ueno Juri week here apparently
Are there any other dramas that are filmed in the same style as Nodame (with the exaggerated hits and the funny side-takes)?
KInda reminded me of Love Hina.... _________________

heheh. seems to go in spurts with my dorama watching (mostly by accident) I think i had 3 or 4 Kimura Takuya dramas in a row right when I first got into this genre.
Anyway, what other Ueno Juri stuff would you recommend? Ive been wanting to add Engine to my queue so Ill do that tonight. Ive seen Orange Days, Nodame, and Swing Girls. _________________

You'd think that would've turned you off J-Dramas.

I've got Engine, but I've been Kimutaku free so far and would like to keep it that way.... At least for a little longer.
Juri-chan had a disappointingly small role in the movie Summer Time Machine Blues, but it's still a fun movie... I gave it a 9/10 on my blog review (shameless plug )... She did quite a number of movies last year, but nome of them have been subbed yet: Deguchi no Nai Umi, Rainbow Song, and Bokutachi no Senso to name a few.
As I mentioned in her thread, she also did a film for NHK when she visited the UK... No subs, but fascinating to watch nonetheless.
