I just finished Brother Beat.

I started downloading the hard subbed files months and months ago simply because Ryoko Kuninaka was in it. I'd watched pretty much all of Churasan, and shallow old Geezer that I am, I just wanted another chance to stare at that beautiful girl.

I thought younger brother showed some excellent acting. He was also the nerd in Dragon Zakura.

I am pleased to see Kuninaka Ryoko in a very different role and portraying this whimpy female with such alacrity. Of course she has always been my first Japanese love and remains so to this day...
Now she has proven to the naysayers that she is indeed multi talented....

I watch Churasan often. It's like coming back to a familiar home.

And how about Ryoko's inimmitable portrayal as a commediene in Kekkon dekinai Otoso!

Nay sayers??? No one with a brain, or even a pulse, could look at that girl and say nay.

And as to Kekkon dekinai Otoso --- Holy crow! I missed that one! Ryoko and Abe in the same show? And it's subbed! And I missed it?

I must be even older than I thought!

Thanks for pointing it out. I just cleared some of the dross out of my HD and started downloading the batch. (At least I hope it was dross. I didn't check too carefully.)

Hurry and get it. You will roll on the floor in stitches. I watch portions of it once every couple of weeks.... Nut

I'm following 3 cop dramas at the same time: Unfair, Remote and Psychometrer Eiji. My fav. so far is Psychometrer Eiji because it has a nice blend of investigation, action and a little sci-fi touch.
The shaky camera filmings and close-up shots irritated me at first, but I must admit that the action sequences were done just right. Between this and Kindaichi, both adapted from manga, this one is way better in execution. Despite being an older show ('97), I found it to be really entertaining and daring in the violence department, or perhaps I just haven't watched enough Japanese cop dramas??

Unfair is quite slow and not suspenseful enough for me even though i only watched up to ep 4; Remote is just silly (at least up to ep 3), and it doesn't help that Kyoko was the main lead. She's annoying as heck Grumble Unfair has some really good actors though, and the main mystery is strong enough to keep me going. As for Remote, it can wait XD.

finished, or should i say fed up with Teppan Shoujo Akane

You're gonna laugh all the time when you watch this! No, not because it's a comedy dorama but because it's sooo stupid !!! yet everything is fake and predictable. this is one of the lamest dorama i've ever seen! if it wasn't for the food, i wouldn't even touch it.

it's hell boring! every episode has the same main idea. it was such a waste of ORANGE RANGE's Sayonara for the theme song.

I ended up skipping everything and watched the last 10 minutes of each episode (that's all you need to watch anyway). watching the whole thing would be worthless, unless you're a diehard fan of one of the casts.

4/10

i hope YAOH is good

I haven't got around to finishing Teppan Girl Akane I got a bit fed up and can't bring myself to watch the rest.

I want to watch Yaoh but I can't find a lot about it so I don't know whether to risk it or not

Cool! Two big thumbs up for Kekkon dekinai Otoso.

Well, I'm downloading the batch. A full day, and I only have half so far.

Okay, here's my level of techno savy. I just dusted the top of the computer in the hopes that that will make it download faster.

Maybe I should watch something else in the mean time.

I did notice that Ralph had misspelled it and it carried over to you... I would've thought it would've corrected itself by now. Beaten

Not a drama really, but a movie: has anyone seen Joze to Tora to Sakana Tachi?
