Well I finished HanaDan 2 today, it wasn't as good as the first but it was ok, real sweet ending though I must say the last couple of eps were particularly painful

Exactly the opposite for me. I could barely stand the movie after watching the series. The movie was an insult to such a wonderful story.
Not to mention the scenic vistas in the series.. and how can you take it seriously when the male lead rides a mopad....
The movie had none of the insightful dramatic moments as for instance:

Whe Saku falls off the bicylce after granpa's funeral and in the midst of his grief Aki stands over him like a Madonna.... nothing so powerful anywhere in the movie.... or when Saku holds the umbrella over her head while all the children had run for cover.... and the swelling music almost makes you choke with it's dramatic effect... or the scene in the gargabe area behind the school in the pouring rain when Aki looks for the bones and finally when Aki and Saku stand in the abandoned railroad station and the puff of wind blows the ashes into the air.... nothing in the movie compares to that.

The movie was just another movie.... nothing memorable about it. Even now I can barely recall any scenes from the movie while the series is as vivid as ever in my mind.

i agree, those last episodes were driving me crazy! especially when they threw Toda Erika into the mix. to me the whole season felt like a yo-yo of emotions; which yes, made for good drama, but ended up making me...

but i have to say that i'm glad it ended the way it did, and surprisingly they resolved what they needed by the last episode. i enjoyed the ending much more than the S1 ending because it felt more like a closure to the series. and as mention in another thread previously, i wouldn't mind seeing a special (kekkon! kekkon!).

anyhoo... i finished Erai Tokoro ni Yomeide Shimatta! and i ended up really liking it. once you get past the first episode, you kinda just get sucked into it. has anyone else seen it?

now i'm looking for something new to watch. i've been hearing good reviews on My Boss My Hero, so i'll probably check that out next.

Just finished watching Gokusen 2 which I think was ok. At the end I was getting tired of hearing the background music whenever Yankumi said' Don't you touch my precious students'

Now watching Attention Please and I thought it was not so funny as I thought so. But episode 5, I think, was uber funny! Don't bash me, Ueto Aya fans, I thought her high-pitched voice was irritating at times.
