"Ma-bo" is a popular nickname for guy's names starting with "Ma", especially for "masahiro" or "masahiko" and such.
usually what people call the members of smap or tokio, I'm posting the ones that are usually used. Some have more than others:
(all family names first)
Nakai Masahiro = Nakai-kun, Nakai-san
Kimura Takuya = Kimura-kun, Kimura-san (Nakai is about the only person who calls him just Kimura usually)
Inagaki Goro = Goro-kun, Goro-chan(mostly goro-chan, called "goro" by Nakai and Takuya often)
Kusanagi Tsuyoshi = Tsuyoshi, Kusanagi-kun/san, Tsuyopon/bon
Katori Shingo = Shingo, Shingo-kun, Shin-chan. He's also called Katori-kun/san but usually only by announcers and such.
obviously, you can call them by their given name such as "takuya" and such, but it's usually more polite to call people by their family name. It basically depends on your relationship with the person.
Ah, souka! Hmm, I remembered Subaru mentioning about these kun/san thing among JE senpai/kouhai in this one interview... _________________

yeah... the kun/san thing differs it seems with johnnys especially... i noticed that even the younger kids in johnnys call even people up to joushima or nakai "nakai-kun" rather than san... however, when it gets to the level of Macchi, it's Macchi-san(...despite how weird that is). I can't remember if higashiyama is kun or san. i think it's "kun" for him too. honorifics can get weird at times _________________

Hello Wynne welcome. My ichi ban is Kimura Takuya too.
Minna I found this news on the Han cinema website maybe someone posted it here already but I'll post it nevertheless. Takuya-kun is going to be in a new movie with Korean actor Lee Byeong Hun
Here is the link
The cast of the Japanese film Hero has been complemented with Korean leading man Lee Byeong-Heon. LEE will play a Busan based elite South Korean detective opposite of the Japanese star Takuya Kimura.
LEE has become a favorite of Japanese audiences through the release of his popular and acclaimed films in Japan, including Kim Ji-woon's "A Bittersweet Life" (Dalkeomhan Insaeng, 2005) and Park Chan-wook's "JSA - Joint Security Area" (Gongdonggyeongbigooyeok JSA, 2000).
Hero is based on a hit Japanese television drama about a prosecutor with an own particular style for investigating crimes, played by Kimura. Kimura's character joins forces with LEE's character to solve a manslaughter case.
Kimura made an impressive feature film debut in last year's Love and Honour. Masayuki Suzuki is directing Hero. Filming has already started and the project is scheduled for a release in September. The television drama version of Hero holds the highest rating record for a drama in Japan.

Yeah, in that interview the host asked Subaru whether there are little Kansai juniors who call him 'Subaru-kun' and he said yes and the host went 'ehhh?' _________________

yeah in johnnys it's not too uncommon despite how much higher they are unless they get to the "level" of macchi... macchi is feared but possibly not in a good way i never did like macchi so i might be a lil biased but honestly all johnnys boys fear macchi a bit it seems(possibly look up to him as well). he is somewhat treated like royalty whenever he's in their presence lol. i'm glad that most of the younger johnnys can call kimura and nakai "kimura-kun" and "nakai-kun" still _________________

If jr call the senior with name ...some senior might not happy about it. But depend the senior personality too..some it is ok for them calling their surname
this might be the culture of japan..respect senior very common there. But if someone call my surname..i will uncomfortable, especially calling surname more suitable for guy..i will tell them, just call my name.

oh all the johnnys kids basically call their seniors by their surnames... other than possibly kinki kids because they both have the same surname. it'd be very rare to see a younger johnnys calling an older johnnys by their given name ever... calling someone by their surname in japan is not uncommon at all. it's very formal actually. at work, at businesses, people are refered to by their surnames. _________________

Yup, Subaru mentioned this too...I don't like Matchy that much myself, and I was LOLing to myself that one time when Yu out of the blue asked Matchy to treat him for a meal, just like that, in this one Hey3x episode My God that boy really doesn't have fear in his bone! _________________

ahaha he gets even more respect from me now for doing that. macchi is just rude at times too. I remember on an episode of mentore G taichi and yamaguchi were doing the segment where they talk outside the guest's dressing room and all of the sudden he comes down the hallway and they both shoot to their feet and greet him and he tells them they're being too loud ...but they were shooting a show lol. and they weren't being loud. there are tons of other examples but yeah. never really liked him _________________

There are only some rare cases there, for an instance if a younger Johnny debuted before an older Johnny. Like the 3 K8 ossans with four of Arashi members. The other day on Hanamaru Cafe, the host was baffled on why Yu keep calling Nino as 'Nino' only when in fact Nino is a senpai, and Yu said he's used to it because in truth they started in the same time, all 3 older boys of K8 with Arashi members joined the agency at the same time. So to the 3 K8 boys, Nino will always be Nino and MatsuJun will always be MatsuJun. _________________
