Yes it is VERY FAMOUS even my father who lives in Japan have a copy of that book...and it was all over the net too... that forum where that train man once wrote all those stuff asked how to do things really existed...

Okay, I just had to share this little strange coincidence involving Shun Oguri. It felt like I was in the twilight zone...
I am currently in college and taking a Japanese language class. I met this girl in that class who had just returned from vacationing in Japan with her grandmother. In the months that I have talked with this girl I have found her to be completely oblivious to the japanese media scene as far as music, movies, dramas, actors, etc are concerned. She knows absolutely nothing and was basically just tagging along with her Grandma to visit friends and ended up falling in love with the country. Just last week, she was showing pictures of her trip to Japan. A couple of the pictures were of her hanging out with a family that were friends with her grandmother. I kept on looking at this family and going "gee...they look so sweet..." and then suddenly I saw Shun Oguri's face. I literally did a double take and could not believe my own eyes. Here she was in a picture right friggin next to Shun Oguri. I asked her about it and she was like, "ya, I hung out with Shun...why, do you know him?"
Can you believe it? I started laughing and informed her that he was an up and coming actor who was gaining fame. She told me his family explained to her that he was an actor but she didn't realize that he was actually well-known. I told her about the many fan girls who would die to be in her shoes at that moment and she thought it was funny. She told me that he was an extremely nice person but very reserved. She believed this to be due to the language barrier. He spoke very little english in comparison to his parents and older sister and my school friend could barely say "hello" in Japanese at that time. His sister did most of the translating between them when they all hung out. Shun was extremely interested in the english language (he tried his best to jump in on the mostly english dominated conversations) and they joked that when she returned to japan the following year, she would have to teach Shun english and he would have to teach her learn japanese in exchange.
I saw another reply from this lady. here.
No she is not Japanese. She is about as white as you can get ^^ haha but she is very smart and is one of the top students in our Japanese language class. The funny bit about the "not knowing he was famous" was that she e-mailed his sister just a week ago to let her know that a student in her class (basically me) knew who he was. The older sister e-mailed her the response "See? I told you he was famous!" It was really cute. She is really proud of him.
haha ya he seems like a nice guy. My friend will be returning to Japan for a few weeks this summer to visit the Oguri family and to check out the university she will be transferring to next year. I wish I could go!! *sniff sniff*
the oguri family i think is sooooo kind. I love the family, I love shun's sister!!! hahahaha.. the girl would be seeing shun again! awts! *envious mode* _________________

lol norika is dominating the thread with her japanese blog pictures of shun. its the thread is going at the speed of light. (also with the help of people quoting her pictures lol)
