However he managed to get Eri and Hisashi together. It was the first time that things in the present changed because of him. However I dislike the fact that he gave up so easily and his wishy-washy decisions are starting to annoy me.
Looks like I'm one of the few who is not really rooting for a Ken and Rei ending.

Just for the simple reason that Tada has more balls than Ken. Tada is straightforward and never afraid of expressing his opinion. He would complement Rei better, since Rei's character is very much like Ken's, someone who can't really express her thoughts and feelings very well. If Rei marries Ken, I really don't see them lasting long because they'll probably have communication problems in the long run.
In Ep 7, Tada confessed to Rei, something Ken couldn't do for the past 14 years. Even though Ken sort of 'confessed' in the earlier part with the can drink thingy, Rei thought that it was just a joke and I can understand why. Rei probably felt that Ken sees her as something as cheap as that can drink. It was really a lousy and unsincere way for Ken to 'confess' to Rei.
Tada's confession was a little unexpected and somewhat unthoughful to Rei since he did it in front of so many people. However, he was at the very least more sincere and genuine than Ken.
Personally, I would like to see Tada and Rei still getting married in the end. Ken timeslips again and FINALLY manages to do a confession. He somehow screws up again or gets rejected by Rei, who will then also expresses all her feelings to Ken for the first time. Ken returns to the present, with no regrets this time but a painful lesson learnt.
Alright, I can sense alot of unhappy KenxRei fans out there now so please don't kill me.
Actually I'll be kinda sad with both ending, if Rie would to be with Tada I'll feel sad for Ken but if Rie would to be with Ken I'll feel bad for Tada.
hahha
problematic eh? :|
cause I think Tada is a nice guy too =) _________________

that's one of the possibilities for the ending...but i hope that will never happen...i'm rooting for kenxrei ending all the way hahhaha

about tada's confession, i think it's much easier for him to confess to rei...afterall he has nothing to lose...the worst is rei would reject him and he would move on with his life...as for ken, his confession to rei means everything to him..he knows how it feels to lose rei again this time to the same guy (not only once, but twice )..moreover he doesn't know whether rei likes him or not (although we all know that she does like him )...at the same time, it will be more difficult for ken to confess because he and rei have been friend for so many years. he will need to make extra effort to make rei believes his confession. lets say it's tada who plays the can drink game and told rei he would date her if he hits the can (although i think tada won't do such thing )...i think rei would take it more seriously...whereas if ken who wins the king stick game and confess to rei...again, rei would think it was another kind of joke from ken...

ah. all the possibilities.

since it's revealed that mikio realized ken was timeslipping, i guess the next time they go back in time, mikio will try his best to match them together, even though it seems that rei will still not accept him (at least in the next episode). i'm hoping for a surprise ending. But i'd go for Ken & Rei together. Isn't this what the whole story is about? haha.

my opinion may sound bias..haha..
Nah, I don't think you're bias. In fact, I do agree with you as well. It'd be really interesting to see how the rest of the episodes play out.

lol let's hope that the fairy will NOT appear during ken and rei's marriage (if they do marry in the end) and allow someone else the chance to win rei's hand (maybe mikio?) OKOK just thinking of the possibilities HAHA. this better not happen

I think confession is not the climax, ken needs to do a proposal since that is the show title. Anyway, what's the point of watching the show if the opening is the same as the ending? A lesson learnt for us?

Yeah, the proposal is the climax but a confession has to come first, isnt it? I really can't imagine him proposing when he doesn't even have the courage to confess yet.
I'm sure this show is pretty much gonna end with Ken and Rei being together since I think they wouldn't want to piss off the viewers. But somehow, I just feel that if he had still lost Rei at the end, it would serve best as a painful remainder for the rest of his life to cherish the people around him. The only thing that changes at the end is that Ken has given his very best and has no regrets this time round. He will also have no more excuses to console himself, given the amount of chances he was granted.
This ending may seem pointless for those wanting to see Ken and Rei being together but I feel that this would sort of like have a greater impact and be somewhat more meaningful in a sense? It's like reminding us to learn to cherish and to live life without regrets because unlike Ken, there's really no second chance in life for us. Humans generally also tend to remember losing somone important more, as compared to getting them, so a sad ending for Ken may somewhat leave a deeper impression to the viewers? But of course, I'm sure most of them wouldn't be happy with it though.
Alright, I'm can sense many people disagreeing with me now so please have mercy with me

I do agree with you to some point.
Just some thoughts

In the beginning, you see Ken succeeding in doing his best and impressing Rei like how he found his bday present, the effort he made to do a homerun etc. The recent episodes, you see Ken failing. Fate causes him to miss Rei during her bday, and now he failed to confess his love to Rei. The next episode probably will show him failing too.
Ken is also feeling guilty because he is "cheating". You see that when he can ruin Tada's reputation in school, he chooses to let others know that he is a good teacher. When he can confess to Rei in Tada's face, he choose not to as it may hurt him. He is in a dilemma to whether anot he should be going back to the past and changing it to benefit it. It will be very unfair to Tada who doesn't have the chance to do that. In the end of Ep07, we see him on the verge of giving up. If he is despicable, he can easily ruin Tada's chance. He too is being the victim of guilt.
I think that maybe, just maybe that Ken and Rei wouldn't end up together. Ep06 and 07 shows Rei finally opening up to other options and not holding on to her crush for Ken anymore. We see a slight scene of Ep08 where Rei tells Ken that she would accept Tada. We can see that as much as they should be together, they can't be because somehow, that's fate. Somehow their character may just be too alike. They can be the best of friends but that may not be true for them being lovers. Well just my 2 cents.
However, chances are that the ending will favor Ken. If that's the case I will really pity Tada-san.

Tada is actually confessing to a student in the college, which i find it a bit unethical. Should at least wait for her to graduate since they are in the final year of Uni. Well, i have nothing against Toda since he is the innocent party in this triangle.

Finally!
I started watching this drama. Just finished the 3rd episode. At first I didn't expect that I would enjoy it, but WOW I'm impressed! I thought it would be a serious drama.
Can't wait for the next episodes! I'm currently dl-ing 4 & 5. What's the latest episode release with subs? _________________
