i think here's the latest info from yuko-chan new project

Today new information, news and comments have been revealed for the upcoming project of Erika. As mentioned earlier, there will be a new movie called "Closed Note" with Erika. Erika plays the main role of the movie and other co-actors are Takeuchi Yuko and Yusuke Iseya. The movie is directed by "Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World" maker Yukisada Isao. In the latest news they describe the story again and the novel it is based on. While Erika plays the heroin, Takeuchi plays the woman teacher who is the original owner of the note.

The producer Haruna Kei comments on Erika: "I think the audience will sympathize with Erika, a girl from the same generation as the character.."
...and about Takeuchi he says the following: "She has the sufficient sympathy to make her appealing to the public, as her life is drastically changed..."
The director himself says that he was impressed with Erika's role in "PACCHIGI",
"her presence and strong acting abilities were why she was appointed as heroin in this film."

Haruna Kei met Takeuchi Yuko in a bookstore. They both were asking for the same book. There the idea about making a movie for "Closed Note" began.
The original work was featured on a Mobile portal from Oct 2004 to Aug 2005 as a novel series, with record hits of 1 million, published in January last year.

The movie is "A film about pure love which frames cross over, which people love and makes life shine, composed as a worldly theme. Of course it's eye-tearing."

The filming started at the end of March and will endure until May.

Sawajiri seems enthusiastic about her role: "This role differs from others I've played and I'm charmed by it, putting all my heart into the role in order to portray this character correctly, but I'm very fond of it. Certainly, look forward to it please." Production is expected to end in July, opening in theaters on September 29th.

*Updated translation and other things*

Finally we have some new informations about one of Erika's upcoming projects.
She will star in a new movie that will be released in late September.
Taho (the production company) updated their site with little information about this movie.
All we know for sure is that the movie is called "Closed Note" (English title can change).

Some facts:

Title: N[YhEm[g
English: "Closed Note"
(Kurozudo noto)

Release: September 29, 2007 (nationwide cinema release)
Production Company: Toho

Sawajiri Erika
Yusuke Iseya (Casshern, Memories of Matsuko, Honey & Clover, ...)
Yuko Takeuchi (The Ring (Ringu), Be with You, Spring Snow, ...)

Isao Yukisada ("Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World", ...)

Based on this novel:
http://www.kadokawa.co.jp/sp/200601-06/

Content (Credits to Shiroguma for translation):
Kae is a hard-working ordinary university student girl. Although her friendships are favourable, her work leaves her somewhat insatisfied, however, she spends every day working hard at it. One day, she finds in the corner of her own closet, a notebook, which the previous tenant had apparently forgot and abandoned. Out of curiosity, Kae takes the notebook. As the "Closed Note" which was unopened...
... at the time spills its contents, her ordinary life starts changing at a massive scale.

Random Information:

More than 1.000.000 accessed this novel through the author's (Shuzuke) site.
He uses a refreshing new style of writing.
It is a very moving love story with a nice message.
The readers of the novel really have to fight to hold back their tears during the last 10 pages."

Welcome to JDorama. You shouldn't feel bad about the divorce - her ex was a pig.

Yuko Takeuchi Coming to Los Angeles!

"Midnight Eagle" plans world premiere in L.A.

Sat, August 25, 2007 (11:54pm EDT)

Izuru Narushima's action thriller "Midnight Eagle," starring Takao Osawa and Yuko Takeuchi, will have its world premiere in Los Angeles, it was announced on Wednesday.

The screening takes place on October 2, and is part of a 100-million yen publicity campaign by Shochiku that also has backing from Universal Pictures. Aside from the cast and the media, a 200-member audience will be invited from Japan to attend the premiere. The event includes a reception and a press conference for the American media.

Shochiku is hoping the campaign will build momentum for sales at the American Film Market, which takes place in Santa Monica on October 31 to November 7.

"Midnight Eagle" is premiering in Japan at the Tokyo International Film Festival later in October. It has also been announced that the theatrical release has been advanced from a December date to November 23.
